Given many products in High Street end with .99p
why do we not have a 99pence coin?

Would save a lot of pennies from been given in change.

A very good idea and one which i am totally in favour of and also think you should write to your local MP regarding the issue.

Lets start a campaign then.

I dont know how to do a poll anyway!

One theory could be it forces a cashier to open their till to hand out 1p change.

e.g. teller must ring up on till 4.99 so almost eliminating risk of any untrustworthy shop assistants pocketing your five pounds.

Maybe that sort of thing goes on up there in Jockland but us more refined English people wouldnt dream of defrauding the system in such an underhand way!!
