Hi Guys
with regards to the player tactics , what exactly is the difference between Aggressive & dirty ?
Other than the obvious conclusion that Motherwell players are Aggressive & all the other teams dirty!
Is there actually any difference in the energy expelled or reward gained?? rolleyes.gif

SL gained and EL lost are identical.

The difference between aggressive and dirty is the chances of an injury. An aggressive player adds 1 in 10000 chance of there being an injury (so all 22 aggressive means 22 in 10000 chance of an injury each minute). A dirty player on your side will be 2 in 10000 of an injury to your side and 4 in 10000 of an injury to the opposing side.

So all dirty means 66 in 10000 chance of an injury.

All dirty vs all normal or passive means 22 in 10000 that the dirty team will suffer an injury and 44 in 10000 that the clean team will.

There is always a 1 in 10000 chance of an injury.

"So do these percentages apply just to my team or to the opposition as well"
I cant see the point or advantage of playing dirty if the only difference is that your player has more chance of getting injured sounds sado massachistic to me !"

The 66 in 10000 applies to both teams. But if your team is dirty and the opposition isn't then they are more likely to get injured than your players.

I was just checking on the difference between Aggressive and Dirty play, Mark pointed me to this topic.
So a Dirty 11 as opposed to an Aggressive 11 have no effect on their own EL,SL,area totals... they simply increase the chances of the opposition players having an injury.. or two?
Wow, thats not very friendly is it!? SESL/slapfish.gif

It's all fun and games until someone gets their eye put out!

Man-marking is perhaps an issue also - I maybe THINK an aggressive player can only have his effective Skill Level reduced by half (at the most).

While a dirty player can have his effective SL reduced by more than half.

I am not 100% sure, but maybe anyone who man-marks players can confirm?

Otig71- 02-21-2007
Ok, so I played Aggressive (all 11 players) in the second leg of a CECIL cup tie.
Their top striker scored a penalty in both matches and we went out 2-3.

1. If I had man-marked Shaun Maloney, would he have been jostled off the ball as he stepped up to take the kick? or

2. Was my aggressive play the reason for those 2 penaltys against us in the first place, with a Strong/Loose Referee? or

3. If I had played dirty, would he have sustained a nasty injury in a training session just as I clicked "Save Lineup"

GM boss- 02-22-2007
I'd choose D over A.

Penalties a result of aggressive players for sure. Maybe best limit aggressive players to FW's. Certainly a GK or DF aggressive are more likely to make fouls in own penalty area, I would guess.

The problem with playing dirty is that while you increase the chances for the opposition players sustaining an injury, your won players chances for injuries are increased as well. So it could back fire.
Anyone remembers Gazza getting a terrible injury and making a reckless tackle? SESL/jester.gif

SRA played 1 player aggressive and 1 dirty today.

Had a player sent off in first 5 minutes!

'a' and 'd' has probability effects on BOTH teams I think, and not specific to the player gaining the extra Skill Level by going 'a' or 'd'

I'd conclude if you are going to risk 'a' and 'd' players (ala EF this season),
then expect penalties and extra yellow and red cards.

Steve Turner- 05-12-2007
The player sent off was playing normal.

This is a change to the rules this season. The chance of a yellow card is based on the ref and your aggressiveness. The chance that this becomes a straight red instead depends on your aggressiveness (1%, 4% and 7% I think for p, n and a/d).

At the moment the only way you can give a penalty away is to play a or d. I think it's theoretically possible to give 11 penalties away in one minute - but this might be stopped by the Olmec code.

Players on negative EL are checked for injuries every minute.

Each player is checked every minute for bookings, penalties and injuries (-ve EL).

As far as I'm aware, other injuries are checked for the whole team with the odds based on the aggression of your players and of the opposition.
