Who Are The Best Premiership Signings this January transfer window ?
- Maniche to Chelsea ? - Patrice Evra to Man Utd ? - Marcus Bent to Charlton ? |
Evra only lasted the first half on debut against Man. City last week, he was getting a chasing from Trevor Sinclair?!!?
Marcus Bent scored the goal that opens the Priemiership chase up again, the equalizer against Chelsea today allowed Man Utd to close the gap down to just 14 points.

Benjani and Olisadebe to Portsmouth - both flops so far. Early days but Benjani could not hit a barn door at the weekend there, but Olisadebe is meant to be a good striker.
Agger and Kromkamp to Liverpool - Kromkamp on field for just 1 minute but enough time to see Man Utd score their winner! Not seen Agger yet.
Sutton to Birmingham - team scored 5 at weekend and he got none of them! Throw back to his Chelsea non-scoring days. But he did get a couple of assists and Match of the Day were raving about him, so he may well be best value signing.
Olisadebe and Agger are top players in FM06 anyway!
Pound for pound, Sutton (on a free!) may well be best signing of the January transfer window!
Sutton might not score a lot of goals but there's much more to his game than that. He's a hard working team player, who can play all over the park and is just as good setting others up as Saturdays MotM performance showed.
I was very dissapointed to see him leave Parkead, his all round contibution will be sorely missed.

Transfer market appears to be a lottery these days.
PS, Celtic clearly have better options for SPL run in than Sutton - a slow often unfit striker, although why Dion Dublin was signed by Strachan remains a mystery.

Were you being ironic about Sutton, or merely taking the mickey, CEL!
Its weird reading back this thread and seeing so many players that fell away so quickly.
Andy Cole and Michael Owen were popular picks. Jings crivens!
Like i said in september Pepe Reina for Liverpool has got to be one of the top signings surely??
Who Are The Best Premiership Signings This Summer (2006)?
Damiem Duff rumoured for only £5M must be hard to better for value.
- Jackie -
I think Berbatov, Zokora and Assou-Ekotto or whatever his name is, are class signings for Spurs.
Rosicky may take time to settle at Arsenal.
Ballack and Shevchenko are top class players, but perhaps getting on a little and picking up injuries here and there.
Liverpool have signed some unknow quantities, but Bellamy is going to a big hit for sure.
Spurs had 7m bid rejected for Duff, did they not?
Heskey cost more than that for Wigan - crazy stuff.
Jermaine Pennant [Birmingham -> Liverpool] Undisclosed
rumoured to be 6.5million pounds which is hardly value for money, now is it?
Heskey is a terrible buy for Wigan, and haven't they let Roberts go?
I think Duff is injury prone and that is why Chelsea where happy to let him go. Another body for the Newcastle treatment room.
being biased and all i think Ditmar Berbatov(10.9M) is looking to be a great addition to the spurs forward line. 2 goals in a recently friendly against Birmingham, one a delightful finish added to the fact he was 2nd top scorer in the budesliga he looks as though he is the business.
