GOAL B: Torsten Frings, Germany v Costa Rica - Friday 9 June
Lahm may have ensured the opening game started with a bang, but team-mate Frings made sure it ended on a high as well. This long-range arrow of a shot wrapped up a 4-2 win for hosts Germany.
GOAL C: Tomas Rosicky, Czech Rep v USA - Monday 12 June (goal one)
Arsenal fans should be in for some entertainment from new signing Tomas Rosicky next season if he carries on scoring like this. Jan Koller had already put the Czech Republic ahead before Rosicky had a go from long range, with spectacular results.
GOAL D: Fernando Torres, Spain v Ukraine - Wednesday 14 June
Many of Europe's richest clubs were already tracking Fernando Torres before the tournament began, but goals like this one in Spain's win over Ukraine just upped the asking price. A fine finish to a move set up by defender Carles Puyol's brilliant run.
GOAL E: Steven Gerrard, England v Trinidad & Tobago - Thur 15 June
England gave their fans few reasons to cheer in the 2006 World Cup campaign, but this late rocket by Gerrard against Trinidad and Tobago was one of the rare highlights.
GOAL F: Esteban Cambiasso, Argentina v Serbia & M'negro - Fri 16 June
No amount of re-runs of this remarkable goal can lessen the brilliance of Argentina's 24 consecutive passes. Substitute Cambiasso had only been on the pitch for 15 minutes when he scored - not a bad finish for a holding midfielder.
GOAL G: Bakary Kone, Ivory Coast v Holland - Fri 16 June
Many spectators rated the Elephants of the Ivory Coast the best African side of the tournament. They failed to make it out of one of the tournament's toughest groups, but Bakary Kone's solo effort ensured they went down with a flourish.
GOAL H: Deco, Portugal v Iran - Sat 17 June
It took Portugal over an hour to break down Iran's defences, and when the opening goal came, it was a long range effort from midfielder Deco, set up by Luis Figo.
GOAL I: Joe Cole, Sweden v England - Tues 20 June
The evening got off to a disastrous start with Michael Owen's injury, so this looping volley from Joe Cole was just the tonic for England fans. Cole took a headed clearance on his chest and buried the ball in the top corner form long range with a stunning volley.
GOAL J: Maxi Rodriguez, Argentina v Mexico - Sat 24 June
One of those "did he really just do that?" goals, simple but stunning. Juan Pablo Sorin's raking crossfield pass found Rodriguez on the edge of the box, he controlled it and produced this dazzling volley.
Gabbarelli- 07-07-2006
Grosso's goal in ET v Germany, Pirlo's pass was sublime, and the finish even better.
Del Piero's just after was not bad either!
