To clarify something that is again causing confusion:-

A team must buy their CP allocation based on ending bank balances the previous season. That is the whole point in healthy budgeting.

The first trade window will likely be 2 weeks AFTER teams have submitted their season 12 team info.

Managers currently offering players for cash in order to buy more CP from Commish are onto plums! SESL/fingersXicon.gif

The cost of CP increases the more bundles of CP you buy pre-season.
These prices will be reviewed in future seasons and may change if SESL gets too reliant on high SL players.

Found this old forum 'fred'.....

I will do some digging about if free at work tomorrow, but there could be a case now that there are too many high end Skill Level players in SESL.

Managers are CP'ing age 4 players nowadays, for goodness sake! tongue.gif

Maybe the time has come to review resources in SESL?

SESL used to have harsher ageing when you reached 30 which probably kept things under control in the past.

I'm pretty sure I said that I thought there was too much CP in auctions and Mark reduced these recently. I can't see CP prices changing with some teams struggling to buy 30.

Superb comment Steve - I forgot about those ageing tables of yore.

In fact, was team total Skill Level not capped at 400 SL back then too?

How about if CP was 100k each at season start. Would that limit resources a little and encourage teams to rebuild with apprentices to succeed over the longer term?

Yes I remember. In fact I think my Inverness team were the last to be hit by the rule, which probably ruined the next season.

In order to keep to 400 I retired players and only had 17 players. Due to a bad substitution order a WG ended up injured and I was on the limit with EL management but also trying to avoid relegation. In the last 2 league games of the season I had to play the captain and, despite stalling and playing passive, managed to get a 4-1 and 4-0 win. two Captain's bonuses took me to 401 and I lost a 2/28 DF.

Lost a 2/28 DF on last day of season? SESL/eek.gif

No wonder rule was scrapped! tongue.gif

As for buying CP at start of season....

... 100k per CP seems easy enough, and drop the 'bundle of 5' and allow managers to buy any number of CP for 100k each?

Raith- 08-23-2008
100k per CP is too much a lot of the poorer team would only get 15.

Keep the bundles because it helps the poorer teams. It would be better to just reduce the amount of cash in the game by lowering gate receipts. Which will in itself reduce CPs in the game. SAy by 5% in the first season and if still more is needed another 5% the season after.

I do not think we need revolution rather evolution. The balance may need only slight tweaking.
