Buying CP at start of season

Does this happen after pre-season tournaments or as I suspect before?

Is Robin Hood rule applied as soon as it happens or after CP purchase?

Michael Suwandi- 02-15-2005
Hi there,

Buy CP before the pre season tournaments. Due to that reason, you might want to have the necessary cash available to purchase the number of CPs you may need for next season - without going over 4,000k and forcing Robin Hood rule.
Hope this helps.

Your not wrong Mike. I did have a budget plan but the battle to avoid the bottom spot in the bottom league has ripped it a little bit. Home bonus money was expensive. Looks like I may just miss my planned allocation.

Well you might still have 5 games to play - getting into the knock-out stages of the cup isn't impossible - which will help (not that I know what you planned for).

Can you trade/sell players/TP at the same stage as buying CP?

On PSFA (the only place I've done this stage) it's

1. End of season rosters - trading begins
2. Retirement and Trades done my Commish
3. New Season orders - which includes buying CP
4. Auction 1

I don't know where TP is allocated here but if it's early enough then you might be able to sell 1TP cheap just so you can get into the next block of 5 CP.

I made my target by 8k! A bit tight but made it. Plus I think I'm due 75k for Dene Shields being the most accurate shooter and a bonus 2CP for him having most MOTM awards in div 3.

A nice end to what was potentially a disasterous season for COW.

Just found this thread and answers my next question on CP purchase!
Shows the importance of a good run in SESL Cup to gave plenty money to buy blocks of CP.

As I understand it in SESL:-
1. End of season aged rosters sent out
2. New Season orders submitted - which includes buying CP
3. Pre-season trade day (hopefully!)
4. Auction 1

Time to re-start writing press releases to raise funds for CP purchase then!

Remember folks not to go over the 4,000k bank balance limit, or Robin Hood rule kicks in (give to the poor) so excess cash goes to bottom Div 3 club.

You are not WRONG there , write some press for the last few games gets you more
MONEY.

When the league finishes, unless you are still in the cup , that is all the cash you have for next season. It helps to stay in the cup SESL/sunshine.gif

At the END , END of the season Supermac and his cats will convert your PP into
cash.> then that is it. SESL/abigcry.gif

NO more Money !

NO more Bosman !

I didn't know John McEnroe played this game? And he has cats too? You should introduce him to Beagle!! SESL/wink.gif

Robin may find his PP cash award a little "light" this year. Clyde & Calvin have been discussing a "Robin Hood" tax...How does that go? "Steal from the Robin, give to the...."

Looking forward to pre-session 15 press releases landing to read the various predictions. Div 3 was a fantastic rollercoaster ride, while Div 2 and Div 1 could not have finsihed any closer. Amazing stuff.

The playoffs should be fiercing fought out on Tuesday also.

What an end!

The playoffs are done (congrats to the victors)

Just the Cup to resolve now, g'luck ALB! ;-)

In hindsight I should have played a 4-4-2-N instead of 4-2-4-L

Ho-hum.

I still think Berwick underperformed this season......

Oh wait - I see your confusion.

You mistake "underperform" for "perform less well than"

I definitely over-performed and almost got away with it........

And if it hadnt been for those meddlin kids in AI I'd have gotten away with it.
