Well?

My team, Feyenoord play the Norwegian fools from Odd Grenland, should be progress with no problems I say...

Who do you team get in draws?

Gabbarelli- 08-27-2004
Hello my cloggy friend...

Afraid my team did not qualify for the prestigious UEFA Cup, we have had to settle for a Champions League group, where we have to travel to footballing outposts like Barcelona at the Nou Camp and Milan in the San Siro.

We do have one glamour tie, against Shaktar Donetsk in the Ukraine...

On 2nd though perhaps we would be better playing in the UEFA!!! wub.gif

I heard Henrik Larsson of Barca was returning to his old club Celtic next month. tongue.gif

Do you wish a loan of Alex Rae to put the boot in ??? ohmy.gif

Have faith CEL guy, I am sure Celtic will infact qualify for the prestigious UEFA Cup when you are dumped out of the Champions League group stage as per usual....... ohmy.gif

I am sure Hearts will restore some European arena pride to Scotland after Celtic's embarrassing displays so far this season in Europe!
Rangers may need extra time and penalties though....

Has anyone seen Newcastle last night?

I was there, what a game. Alan Shearer is still in top shape, scored 3 goals. I am glad I got the chance to see him play with my own 2 eyes biggrin.gif . Cluivert added another 2. Bellamy is a very fast player and made a lot of beautiful moves. Absolutely wonderful game. cool.gif

Saw some of Newcastle game on TV Yoav. Shows what a team of decent players can do with the right manager (Graeme Souness)

Do you support the Israelis Bnei Sachnin?

Les- 10-01-2004
The Toon did what was needed - but I still think our defence will get found out when we play someone decent sad.gif

I'm pleased you enjoyed watching my local team Yoav! I get to see every home game and I think Kluivert is a CLASS player - above everyone else at the minute!

No, not really.
But their coach used to be Rishon City's coach and they also had a few of Rishon's players on thier roster in recent seasons. One of them actually played yesterday.
I was glad that they won the cup last season on acount of them being a small club.

From what I saw, Graeme Souness must be really into things.
There was a lineman's wrong call about a out ball (a Bnei Sachnin player kicked the ball out) but the lineman waved the flag the wrong way.
So anyway, Souness turned his head in disbelieve at the call and it was when Newcastle had a 3-1 lead (and that too without counting the 2 - nil win on the 1st match). You can tell alot about a manager from such small details.

I wonder why he couldn't do this with Blackburn? mad.gif

Souness did win a Cup at Blackburn, but the players there are not great.

Lorenzo Amoruso is a comedy defender for a start.....

Good point, but Blackburn went from winning the Worthington Cup, and competing for a time in the UEFA (before getting beaten by Cetlic), to just fighting away relegation. And it seems like the same fate awaits them this year too.

Not much glamour in the all-new UEFA Cup group stages drawn a few minutes ago.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/3706288.stm

Rangers play Auxerre of France, Grazer AK of Austria, Poland's Amica Wronci and Dutch side AZ Almaar.

Scottish counterpart Hearts face Ruud Gullit's Feyenoord, Schalke 04, Basle, and Millwall's conquerors Ferencvaros.

Gabbarelli- 10-05-2004
Wow!! All the big names there eh?

That is tournament to be in by the looks of things!!

Don't worry Celtic will (hopefully) manage to grace it with our presence in the later stages!! biggrin.gif wub.gif

Celtic have lost the most amount of goals of all teams over the first 3 Champions League games. Not sure I share your optimism, (whatsyourname) Gabbalubalub.
