So Commish, about a finders fee for new bosses,
how does that work?

Craig- 06-15-2005
You find a friend.
Introduce them to SESL.
Help them get started by showing them how to use lineup builder.
Collect 3 CP for your troubles! SESL/sunshine.gif

As noted in post above - thats it in a nutshell.

Take a chance on a bringing a new manager into SESL,
show him the ropes,
collect 3 CP,
do not pass Go! SESL/clap.gif

update:

3 new managers joining us this week.

Anyone else need CP - then find me a manager please! SESL/clap.gif

Mark: YOU should manage a team in this league!

(what a great idea...3 CP, please?)

Queens Park- 06-28-2005
That assumes Mark regards you as a mate!!! SESL/tongueout.gif

And are you going to show him the ropes, encourage him to submit lineups, introduce him to the intricacies of the game? I think not.

No, Mark is overqualified for the job and could probably teach you more than you can teach him!!! SESL/sunshine.gif

Beagle- 06-29-2005
Your point is well taken.

...however, I might add that I was one of the original eight managers in the late 1980's that helped Al Sellers develop this software, and played the game when it was still in "snail mail" status...

...not that my current record would reflect that!!

In that case I bow at the feet of such an experienced and successful (sic) manager!

And I'm proud to have such a similar record of success this season SESL/athumbsdown.gif

Join me in my applause (and surprise) seeing CLY off the foot of Division 3 this week!

Can exisiting managers be offered vacant teams before newbies are brought in over the close season?

Maybe list the teams available, and invite current SESL managers to apply for the vacancy and managers state why they should get the team, as in real life.

What ya think?

Andy,
Are you missing div3 already? SESL/jester.gif

Nairn County- 08-28-2005
Ironically from posts above, I notice Albion are available to manage now!

I imagine there will be many glory hunters wanting that job! I think loyalty is important and would find it hard to walk away from a team I am trying to rebuild.

Beagle- 08-29-2005
Agree with Nairn County. I know I'm in the minority here, but I think a manager that wins with a team he built from scratch or saw through the hard times is more worthy than one that leapfrogs the pack by swapping teams.

ciril- 08-30-2005
Agree with Nairn County and Beagle.
Personally, I would never change my club, no matter if it is on last place or SESL Champion.

No pointing any elbows, Mr Nairn and Mr Beagle eh!!!!!!!

I would normally agree with some of what you both are saying.

I don't know about it making you a more worthy manager but you certainly do get a good bit of satisfaction in building a team up and seeing it take shape to hopefully move up through the divisions.

Here comes the but,
BUT
sometimes you get an offer that you just can't refuse. Having the oppertunity to be manager of the team you support is something you can't knock back as it might not come again.
