Looking for a challenge like the crimbo and january ones (sadly before i was in the game)

A scottish team would sound good considering this is SESL and all!

SeslDotNet- 03-12-2006
I am currently playing as Newcastle in FM, so why not give that a go Chris?

As for a future challenge -- maybe Hibs would be a good choice next month, as plenty of quaility youth players there to build a team around.

SeslDotNet- 03-13-2006
My Newcastle finished season one in 3rd spot in Premiership.

We beat Middlesburgh on last day to jump past them and Man Utd from 5th to 3rd. Alan Shearers' final game before retiring was goals in 86th and 90th minute vs Middlesburgh and was a fitting send off for him.

Euro Vase - won, beating Marseille in final
Euro Cup - 2nd knockout round, losing to Rangers on penalties
FA Cup - 3rd round, losing to Nottm Forest
League Cup - semi final, losing to Chelsea
League form: W19, D11, L8, Pts 68.

Dunfermline- 03-14-2006
I will give Newcastle a spin then in FM.

I play at quite a low speed, so many only get one season completed by end of March.

I am guessing the defence needs sorting out first?

Then instill some discipline to the club like Souness was supposed to have done?

My Newcastle finished season one in 3rd spot in Premiership.

Euro Vase - Won, beating Marseille in final 8-1 on aggregate.
Euro Cup - Won, beating Villareal in final 2-1.
FA Cup - 5th round, losing to Fulham.
League Cup - Won, beating Charlton in final 2-1 AET.
League form: W22, D7, L9, Pts 73.

3 trophies for the trophyless big club! Souness eat your heart out....

Dunfermline- 03-15-2006
Souness eat your heart out? Hope that is not a bad taste comment at his well-known heart problems, but 3 trophies for the trophyless big club is quite an achievement.

Can you post up some screen prints?

What players did you sign for this success?

No signings in Season 1 at all, just original squad.

You appear to be looking for something in the Souness comment that is clearly not
there. SESL/Moonie.gif

If somebody tells me how to upload screen dumps, then I am sure this can be arranged. SESL/tongueout.gif

I'd love to do the Hibs Challenge SESL/awhack.gif - Let me know

Half way thru season 2, and doing OK as Newcastle challenge for european places in league.

I will post up some screen prints in next couple of days,

Hearts- 03-19-2006
I will start a Newcastle game on FM SESL/goodluckicon.gif

but count me out on a Hibs challenge.

Hate them. SESL/tongueout.gif

For season 2, to replace Shearer, I brought in an tall-and-small partnership. Henrik Larsson was available on a free from Barcelona, and when fit has patnered wee Lucarelli up front.

Michael Owen and Larsson rotate as back up striker as neither are fit very often! Luque is great as a FL rather than an AML I find.

Sanli Tuncay from Turkey is doing well for me as the AML instead of Luque.

The league cup seems in the bag as all the big teams are out now we are down to last 4. That is a worthless competition as Europe is where any big club is measured. We are in the Champions League knockout stages with all the other big european clubs.
Update to follow later in the week.

... sits tapping fingers waiting on somebody to spill beans on how post screen shots.....

SeslDotNet- 03-21-2006
To print screen shots:-

Alt + Print Screen
Then open a picture editor (Paint is on most PC's as default)
Ctrl + V to dump image
Save as a .jpg file
(reduce it in size if possible to about 500 width)
Upload .jpg to any free image host (tinypic etc) and then link to that file from SESL forum.
Easy.
