As consolation I beat Le Mans 4-2 in the French Cup Final.

Did you dress up for the Cup Final and put your suit on?
I read in Zoo magazine today that is what Football Manager addictee's are doing to take copying of the real life game to a new level.

Meanwhile in my game, I am 3 points clear at the top of the table.
Champions League place is my priority, as any big team has to play in the Champions League for money and prestige.

So you don't care if you flop miserably in the Champions League - have you no ambition? SESL/iamwithstupid.gif

So is Gabs throwing games so he AVOIDS making Champions League?

Better to get there and try, rather than not into Champions League at all?

I'm sitting 4th in table and picking up a bit now
but decent challenge this one SESL/clap.gif
although game runs a little slow, so I need to remember to choose less active leagues at start up next time.

Won the league in season 1, to the delight of Chairman and fans alike.

Splashed money on AMC Kim Kallstrom after he starred for Sweden at WorldCup 2006!
3.2million up front, with payments over next 18 months (totalling 8m)

Pre-season 2 and I experimented with a 3-1-1-3-2 formation and while we scored plenty we also lost plenty. Infact we lost every pre-season game with scores like 4-6, 3-4 and 3-5.

Young DC Daniel Agger joined the ranks in another big money signing, and I started defence of title with an opening defeat, then a draw, and finally a win (3rd time lucky)

4-2-3-1 is formation now, and while defence is shored up, the goals are not flowing at the other end either.

1st choice GK now out for 3 months, so going to be testing times as Champions League football is about to begin.

I am finding this game hard going.

7th in the league table.

Any players I should definately buy?

FM06 is quite slow to play, so I am still a few weeks from completing season 1.

Those Celtic players took one heck of a beating!

8-0 would never happen under new coach Gordon Strachan though.
He is a firey wee character, don't you think?

Gabbarelli- 11-28-2005
Ah, but did Celtic turn it around in the 2nd leg?

SeslDotNet- 11-29-2005
2 seasons and 2 top division titles!
Remarkable achievement, says the fans and Board! SESL/clap.gif

Won season 2 title by 5 points despite drawing my last 3 games. Seemed Lyon also lost bottle and drew their last 3 matches also!

Domestic cups were poor as I rested players, but a decent Euro Cup run was enjoyed. A credible 3rd place in Champions League group, then the 8-0 away win at Celtic with a 5-0 home win with my 2nd XI for a glorious 13-0 aggregate victory.
Liverpool then hammered us in next round 2-0 in France and 4-1 at Annfield.

Season 3 has began OK playing 4-1-3-2 formation now, and while defence is shored up, the goals are not flowing at the other end either just yet despite 5 attacking players on field.
Champions League group is Stuggart, Porto and Kiev so looking to finish 2nd in the groups this time.

Freddy Adu signed, but this then meant my deal for Marko Bas collapsed due to 4-non EU rule.
D'OH! SESL/awall.gif
