Delighted DC got back on the podium at Monaco Grand Prix.

Its been almost a 3 year wait for David Coulthard, but his 3rd place finish yesterday was worth the wait.

Well done that man! SESL/clap.gif SESL/clap.gif SESL/clap.gif

Yes, good to see DC on the podium (complete with Superman cape). Can anyone stop Alonso though?

Livingston- 05-30-2006
What was Superman cape all about? Weird.

And Michael Schumacher so clearly cheated in qualifying lap by pretending to mis-steer on the last corner with his rival hot on his heels!

Alloa- 05-30-2006
Coulthards car company (Red Bull) are sponsoring a film (I guess Superman) so that is something to do with Superman cape he wore on podium.

The mere fact we are talking about it on this forum suggests their publicity stunt was a success then!

As for F1 - I may well start watching it more often if more contraversary arises, like Schumachers pretend 'crash' on last corner of qualifying. Any publicity is good publicity, as this news got me to watch the race, when I normally would not have bothered!

I am happy (surprised?) so see David Coulthard make a top 3 finish for first time in nearly 3 years.

3 weeks ago when I was on holiday, I stopped off in the Scottish Borders and visited the David Coulthard Museum. Quite good seeing all the memorabilia and I had forgotten how successful he had been around 1999 and 2000 when he won back-to-back British Grand Prix's at Silverstone, and podium finishes were the norm then.

Suppose its a young mans sport, but as he gets older, he may soon grow to fit in to that giant chin of his! SESL/wink.gif

F1 has got a lot of bad press last couple of years,
but this current season is actually very entertaining and I wish more people would consider taking a look at how competitive the sport is again now.

WeeBeardyBloke- 06-13-2006
I never left it - despite the yawnathon of the previous quallies.

The new ones are quite good, but need a few tweaks.

The racing still relies on the pit-crew for overtaking a little too much. Almost every race appears to feature "overtaking" in the pit-lanes.

Michael Schumacher - will he go or will he stay? Rumour is he will make an announcement on Sunday night. The Ferrari team are to announce their 2007 driver line-up after the race at Monza also.

I would like to see Schumacher go to a smaller race team for a couple of seasons before retiring.

Saint Mirren- 09-11-2006
Schuey won yesterday and with a couple of races to go I can see him over-taking at the last minute and winning the Championship.

What a way to end his F1 career. SESL/goodluckicon.gif

I think you are right. Schumacher is just 2 points behind now with 2 races to go.

Stage is set for him to finish with ANOTHER championship - his 8th I think.

Nillis- 10-18-2006
Mixed feelings about Schumi going. I generally hate him but (when he doesn't park his car in Monaco) he's a good ambassador for the sport. It'd be nice to let him go with another world championship, but since his engine failure in Japan that looks pretty much impossible.

Looking forward to next season already though, hopefully there'll be some great competition with Kimi at Ferrari, Fernando at McLaren with hopefully Lewis Hamilton alongside.

Do people still watch Formula 1 racing? Its got quite dull now.

Young gun Lewis Hamilton is spicing things up, but mayeb says more about how poor the majority of current drivers are if a kid can come from no where are currently lead the F1 standings.

Gretna- 09-30-2007
This kid that came come from nowhere currently lead the F1 standings is one race away from probably winning championship?

Coulthard was 4th today at Japan.

Rumour is half the F1 teams will quit and start up a rival motor racing set up.

Does to Max Moseley and the company he keeps, or something

Well done lewis Hamilton.

How funny to see Ferrari celebrate then realise Lewis had overtaken 2 corners from the end!
