Actually, Yoav, you extracted massive quantity from miniscule quality! Fantastic! How you do that?
It's a gift.

And look at that! Right back to concise quality!
Kevin (HUN)- 04-18-2005
Gee, Phil. Going on for endless amounts of rambling about a little 'ol nothing? One would almost think he was an attorney! (That's barrister for those across the pond, I believe).

To return to the topic title for a moment....
I choose Forwards. They are the ones that scores your goals. If you don't score, you can't win. Pure and simple.

Well that's all "HearSay"
ps, "Pure and Simple" was Pop Idol winners Heresays debut single. How is American Idol going? Has the blonde singer won yet?

FW vs GK - which is more important ?
The result of the Albion jury says FW
WeeBeardyBloke- 05-29-2005
Personally I think a good offence is much better than a defence/GK.
However you do need a decent GK (mid 20s at the very least IMHO, with a backup GK in the high teens, early 20s if possible).
GMcD.
WeeBeardyBloke- 05-29-2005
Of course since this season I've gambled purely on that then I would say that wouldnt I.
And dont listen to the HUN manager - I'll still be here at the end of the season at the top four.
Aging will hurt, but I think I can still hold on.
GMcD.

OK, FW + GK vital.
What is NOT so vital though? WG seem out of favour with many teams. Why wingers not popular in sesl?

I would say that DFs are not vital, you could get a way with a bunch of SL 10+ fellows.
WGs, if you play Longball than they are your guys (as a support crew to the FWs). But with Ball control, what will you do with them?

Disagree here Yoav but I don't want to give away too many secrets

Agree here Steve but don't want to give away too many secrets.

As Peter Kay would say in Phoenix Nights - "you are talking balls man!"
Although I have no WG, many other teams have 2 high skill level ones. WG's are the future, I'm telling you....

Go on INV, tell us your secrets. Go on!

OK Craig, seeing as you asked.
If you want to play Longball all the time then just get powerful forwards, not wingers. You will score slightly less goals with 2 wingers and 2 forwards than with 4 forwards, assuming they have equal SL. This is mainly down to the fact that a winger is less accurate ( think you need an SL 32 WG to be 100% sure of a shot being on target) and only have 90% shooting ability (so an SL 30 FW is 6% more likely to score than than an SL 30 WG).
Wingers are useful if you want to use any other tactic because they add at least 1.35 times their SL to OFF whereas a FW only adds their SL.
Unfortunately my wingers are too old to coach effectively so I've gone with the Longball tactic. In a couple of seasons when I'm rebuilding I'll have a couple of decent wingers again.
