Hi div 3 managers,
i am looking for someone to buy a GK apprentice for me, as you can get them 200k cheaper than myself!
Now you would need him to play 10 games before you could trade him and as such you may as well put 10TP on him while you do...
I would then buy him off you for,
300k (the cost of your apprentice) + 10TP (to cover the 10TP you put on him) and a further fee in cash for your hard work :-) (final fee negotiable)
This would be a good way for one of the struggling teams to make a little profit if you already know you arent going to challange for promotion!!
If anyones interested - get in touch
Ricky STE
Oh & by the way If you are training up this Keeper for Tricky Ricky any other players you coach or train in those matches will cost you k25 per time I believe!
So dont forget to add that into the calculation.
Of course there is nothing to stop you auctioning the keeper off to the highest bidder once you have done the deed for tricky Ricky!
...thanks for your input there Dave, im sure everyone is aware of the rules! (i.e. additional slots used per game cost 25k each above and beyone using 2 per game)
If any division 3 manager who isnt going to challange for honours this season is interested then we will factor this in naturally.
If no division 3 manager who isnt going to challange for honours is interested then i have no issue with training him up myself this season as i wont be challanging for league honours this season anyway so it will be no loss to me (given that my incredible managerial skills should be just about enough to keep me from relegation! - let that come back to haunt me!

)
Hiya again Ricky. When I read your forum post above is seemed like de ja vu to me.
Not sure why!
I reckon our man Rickeeeee is a little scared his STE may get relegated if he trains up a rookie GK himself.
Go on Ricky, show you are a man and not a mouse!

Personally, I think that any promise to sell a player after training him up for another team is a contract entirely unenforceable in SESL. In my opinion, a team could make the deal, train the player....and balk on the deal when the training is complete. And there's nothing STE can do to enforce it.
Further, although there's nothing to prevent a pair of managers from making this deal "behind the curtain," I think that the whole thing runs afoul of the rules preventing "loans." Certainly violates the spirit of those rules. If we permit this deal, what is to prevent D1 teams from buying an auction player (because they can afford it) and "farming him out" to at D3 team for training? The D3 team coaches him up, and ships him back to D1 ready for action. Bad news, people. Bad news.
Phil
I'd like to think it would be more of a gentlemans (or ladies) agreement, and that the managers of SESL, as reputable and upstanding as they are, would see it more as a moral duty to go through with any deal once it had been agreed.
Surely the whiter than white managers of this league could never be part of a dodgy gazumping type deal could they?

SM have added an apprentice GK and DF
We plan to put about 5 TP on each and then sell one of them in about a months time.
If you cover the 25k extra per TP slot and an additional fee premium for use of our training facilities, then we can perhaps reach an agreement in principle.
incidentally i dont think it breaks any rules. Div 3 teams need cash. Div 1 teams need decent players.
There is nothing stopping a manager bailing out on a deal thats a risk you would be taking.
Dont see any problem with it myself.
As it happens i have decided to purchase myself and train myslef so no issues!
the STE press office are proud and happy to anounce a deal has finally been reached.
STE and bitter rivals SM have traded the young talent Craig Hinchcliffe GK 0/13 who will finish his training this season at STE and will be number two keeper at the club next season.
STE Boss said this of the young talent " i hope Craig will be in goal when we bring home our first silverware he is part of our long term plans
STE and SM officials have been locked in trade negotiations for what seems like ever, and somewhat in the public eye. It is thought the two managers will now get back to concentrating on playing priorities!!

A tiny detail that prohibits such things is the
10 matches trade embargo for players bought on auctions. If you are playing him for 10 matches, you might as well train him.
Yoav is correct on the "10 matches trade embargo".
However, what SM were doing sometimes was subbing apprentice GK on T >= 89
While that is within the rules, this is a loophole I am not entirely comfortable with. I highlighted this to Jackie, and that was last I heard from SM boss!
To be fair, Jackie was cleaver, and I am surprised more managers in Div 3 did not 'cash in' on low price apprentices and sell them to Div 1.
A better rule (maybe) and one that I think has been mentioned on MSWL is have a time limit rather than number of games played. So if you get the player after match 24 you can't sell him until after match 39 whether he plays or not.
No problem with what Jackie did here. In SaSo there was a manger that got a cheap GK (not age 0) and played him in MF so he could sell him quicker.
I agree with Yoav in that if you are going to train an apprentice you may as well keep him - unless you can get a very good deal. And to me a good deal would be 200k + 150k per TP added (that's 100k for the TP, 25k for the extra training and 25k administration fees).
