With the end of the season upon us , a quick look at the stats shows many clubs under the 2000k bracket ( which in my opinion you need going into a new season.)
Worst still there are 4 clubs under 1000k and POOR Airdrie on 308k.
Ok AI have 9tp and MOT have 16cp & 5 tp , but frankly without a decent bank balance I can see that these clubs will struggle again next season.
Some may say so what , it is down to bad management - possibly so but should we condem them to another season of struggling.
Should we help the poor ? Should they be given a boost ? (say 500k)
OK , now I hear everyone shouting if they get 500k , then I think we should all get it !!
My concern is that we want to keep managers rather than lose them and it is not much fun going through a season where you lose most of your games and ultimately get relegated.
By the same token we should not reward managers for being POOR or getting relegated, but it is a game and we want to keep every one happy.
This is just food for thought - I don't know what the answer is

it is down to bad management ........

DEE, AI, BRE and MOT, the 4 teams on less than 100ok will be in the 3rd division next season anyway so can't be relegated.
Brechin can make 1000k with a "hello" on the blog.
Motherwell can buy 20 CP to make a total of 36, which is more than 15 other teams will be able to get.
Dundee should perhaps not have spent virtually their last k in the last auction with only 12 games to go. Yes they wanted to stay up but so did we but part of this game is planning. They can still buy 20 CP.
Airdrie is a strange one, but spending over 1000k in the last auction and buying an apprentice even later and only using 6 TP on him wasn't wise. I suggested to Commish that the league buy some of the unused TP back off then to get them above 500k otherwise they can't buy anything.

I definitely think it is due to bad management,
airdrieboss- 07-07-2007
I put it down to bad management too.
(Sorry, just been directed to this topic from the blog!)
I intended to buy an apprentice near the end of the season, but losing track on games left, and a gut full of Carlsberg, i bought an apprentice with 6 games to go! My fault.
I overbid on the auction player too. I didn't think he would go for that much but then again i shouldn't have bid that much!
Oh well, i like a challenge!
Don't take my TP away though. I need that.
Now, i'll just have to dust off those old trading skills of mine again. Where's Fallon when you need him..................

I'm surprising myself here, but I'm actually coming out in support of my rival(!) Kev on this one!
Don't be such a bully Mr, I'm a Manager of a Great Top Quality Team the rest of us are never gonna win anything but we have a lorra fun tryin'...
Kev dropped a clanger - and knows it! - he's paying the penalty and getting on with it... he's making fun of the situation, which is how it should be! Don't forget this site is about having a bit of fun... and the poor teams have as much fun battling against their problems as the 'better' teams have as going for their glory.
Kev, you dropped a clanger mate - I think it's funny!!! (only as a rival of course ? or maybe on a personal note ???) but you shouldn't have to defend yourself to other managers in this context - good luck in division 3... my 'poor' team live to fight for another season in division 2... and we intend to stay there again by the skins of our teeth again!!!! 'even if you do think it was undeserved...
...now, if you can just promise me that you'll WHUP "nasty" Nairn in your two encounters this season my support of your current position is fully justified
airdrieboss- 07-09-2007
WHUP a fellow Spurs fan? You sure?
Ok then, i'll give it a go!
The thing is, when i first took over Airdrie they were one from the bottom of Division 3. I then took them to division 3 champions, then promotion again the following season. Granted, it was too quick as we went straight back down, but that's what this games all about.
Look at Phil. He's been with Clyde for donkeys, yet AFAIK he has never reached division 1 (will look at the history page after this and correct myself accordingly!). But he's still here having fun no matter what.
I've also heard through the grape vine that people really want to have cash donated to us. This is a big no-no as far as i'm concerned.
It was ME who screwed up, so it should be ME who gets out of it. I appreciate that people are concerned for my position but i shouldn't be made a charity case.
I will get out of this. I've done it before, and i can sure do it again! Even if i am a

I think we All need a drink after viewing your Bare Arse Peter!

Fair play there Kevin. I like your style, and I know you will get through this on your own. You can always trade player for resources and you have a few high quality players there.
Just rest your players in the cup, that sounds good to me
