January FM challenge.

Guess a challenge in an English league would perhaps attract more managers attention to take part.

A Championship team sounds like an idea to me, although I think given your Palermo feats, you should perhaps take the bottom team in the division and be allowed no signing (apart from maybe the Celtic defence just to handicap you a bit).

Anybody else have thoughts on this month's challenge?

Commish has suggested Derby County, 2 signings per season, with no loan deals.

I am happy to go along with that...

(Although ALO should probably be allowed no signings as he is too good at this game).

Yes, I would definitely not manage Rangers, and sure many on this forum would definitely not manage Celtic.

Hibs have a good FM squad, might make the challenge bit easy - but surely beating the OF title will take a good effort?

OK, I'll bite. I will give Wolves a go in FM06 then.

My challenge is underway, signed Valter Birsa FC from Gorica for Ł160k - has scored 4 goals in first 5 games, and Lars Martin Endegal DC from Start for Ł500k.

2nd, but after only 4 games, W3 D1 L0, and beat Peterboro 3-0 in League Cup.

2 players signed :-

Dwight Pezzarossi, Free transfer. AM/FC - top quality

Ole Budtz, 1.5m from a German club. DC/SC - playing the Dane in my defence with options as a striker too if injuries continue up front.

Had tried for Daniel Agger as DC but that Dane is going to Liverpool instead !

Played a handful of games and sitting 3rd in the table.
So far so good, but several managers are trying to play mind games with me, but Leicester Craig Levein was given a negative comment volley and I promptly dumped his duds 4-1. Glory days!
