Liverpool beat AC Milan in a penalty shoot-out to win the Champions League after sensationally coming from three-goals down at half-time.
What a game!!!!! The best European Cup Final for many a season.
The classic tale of two halves. Hero of the night must be that Grobbelar mimic Jerzy Dudek. For I thought he was the weal link and was going to throw it all away for Liverpool, but that double save near the end and then the penalty saves, he was magnificent, truely magnificent.
The FA and UEFA must change rules and allow Liverpool to defend their european crown next season. The sponsors may demand this also?
Fate seemed to be playing in liverpools hands. lets remember that the last time liverpool won was the year the last pope died!!! If we look at the semi final, It was a dubious goal, the quarter final they played against the worst Juventus side ever on a night.
Then to the final, a disallowed goal for Milan, which in fairness didnt look offside, a very harsh penalty, and then in the shootout Dudek jumps a meter off the line before the kick and makes a save, should have been retaken but anyway, well done liverpool
Good week for England, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Seems going second in a shootout is pivotal

Remarkable match. Best Final I can remember.
The way the Liverpool fans lifted their side with singing was special, and to hear them all so loudly as teams came out for 2nd half (losing 3-0) was impressive.
It seems their name was on this Cup given the luck they have had, and now surely Liverpool must be permitted to defend their crown next season.
That was certainly an amazing result - not just this match but the whole CL campaign!
I was watching the match in a pub but at half time we went to get something to eat, stayed in the restaurant and left at 11pm to find that Liverpool had won - I could not believe I had missed it - I felt sure it would be a dire 0-0 draw.
Unfortunately though this is another year where (other than the final) the CL has been won by a more negative team tactically than some of the others in the competition.
I'm glad an English club won it but feel that this just backs up the feeling that the CL is being devalued when teams who finish 5th in their own league can be champions of Europe?
Liverpool certainly carried their luck throughout the Champions League campaign.
Seems fate had their name on that trophy.
Gerrard must surely stay at Liverpool now?
Great photo GRE.
Looks like Gerrard got the hubcaps off the van too!
How come whenever an English club wins the Champions League, FIFA dusts off its "World Club Championship" idea?
I was wondering that too!
perhaps it is consolation to Liverpool they can play in that instead of defending their CL trophy?
So is Stevie Gerrard staying with Liverpool or not?
Place your bets please!
.... 3 years on,
is the name of Liverpool to be etched on the European Cup again this May?
Liverpool vs Arsenal last night was an IMMENSE game.
4-2 on the night, and 5-3 aggregate win.
Liverpool may well beat Chelsea in semi final, so I can see them in Champions League final - yet again.
