I wonder how the opinion of managers has changed, from looking at previous posts on this topic it's interesting to see the value placed on WG's.

Many managers listed WG well down or bottom on their list of Most Valuable Positions, but after checking out the Season 15 rosters, 23 teams have two or more WG's and a further 5 teams have one WG in their squads.

Is the commish right to speculate that a lot of teams will be using the Early Cross tactic this season???

I think so.......

Amazing what you find digging about in old forum threads!

Back to matter in hand....
I agree 2 up front is the most valuable position.

2 big FW's, and a top rated GK the basis of a great SESL team.

I disagree.

2 big WG's can make a team, supported of course by a big GK.

Or A big FW and a few strong MF's playing BC against all those EC teams in the league.

Big MF's are overlooked in these run downs. They add DEF and OFF, and this flexibility really allows tactic flexibility.

But really the only must have in all OLMEC leagues is the big GK

Agree with Brian on this one.

You have to have a big GK. An SL 25 GK against an SL 30 FW will only save 50% of the time. With an SL 30 GK that's 60% - a 20% increase.

You have to have a big FW. An SL 25 FW against an SL 30 GK will only score 30% of the time. An SL 30 FW will score 40% of the time - a 33% increase.

You have to have a big SW/SD. A SW adds twice his SL to GP, DEF and OFF for most tactics - the most of any position. Also when using the tactics (eg BC) that reduce DF's GP, SW GP can be 50% of the total. And there's the +50% DEF against L and E tactics.

You have to have big WGs. A WG adds more OFF than any other position - even more than a FW at L and nearly as much at E as a SW adds to the total stats.

Steve, yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever....

What I want to know is, what was my wife doing in Toronto 3 years ago?
