New NAIRN boss this season has played Stall 51% of the time this season!

We are awaiting Norris McWhirter or Roy Castle to return our calls on whether this is worthy of mention in the Guiness Book of Records!

Nairn have 2 points from a possible 42.
2 draws and 12 defeats in the league.

The 2 drawn matches came in last 7 days. NAI got lucky and scored a penalty in each of these games!

An example of concern from the NAI Board is going 1-0 down to CLY in the most recent game - and nAI doing NOTHING about it. NAI remained STALLING! Was this an over sight, or simply awful tactical awareness?

NAI Chairman will be in dialogue this week about ways Richard can revive the fortunes of NAI.

One of those points came at his fiercest key rival today (my SESL/Moonie.gif Arbroath) - the late penalty was a life saver for Rich, but with morale at rock bottom this point must have seemed like a real bonus.

Surprisingly quiet since his return - but then again he did start the season with statistically the worst team in the Division - I still think he is keen enough to build a decent side!

If they do go down this season it will be a shame to lose an 'old rival'. Perhaps the point he picked up against us will kick-start his season SESL/wink.gif

Support(?) from an unusual source, yes... but as soon as Rich does start to turn the corner the Arbroath manager is ready to start stamping him down again SESL/tongueout.gif

Come on Rich defend yourself man! I expect some gloating in the press this week at my failure to beat you! Start the fight against relegation now and get the Chairman off your back now!!!

NAI need look no further than Montrose in Div 3 for inspiration. Dead and buried (or so we thought) and Andy goes and pulls 2 wins out the bag yesterday and off the bottom of Div 3.

Week before, also in Div 3, it was BRE turn to enjoy 2 wins and give Rudi encouragement to see the challenge thru.

So come on Richie - you can keep NAI in Div 2. SESL/clap.gif SESL/clap.gif

Yep, it's a funny old game, alright. You won't get very far by Stalling all the time, unless you're playing a team as weak as mine. You definitely need to be playing at least Normal, with five at the back, or maybe Early Cross or Longball, depending on the strengths and weaknesses of your squad.

Nothing venture, nothing gain.

I dont come online for a day and this is what happens....ive learned my lesson the internet will be on everyday from now on.

Lets be serious about this firstly has anyone that started slating my tactics actually looked at my squad?
Secondly did anyone notice how the majority of my key players were on running on low el.

We have started to turn the corner NOW with the introduction of a few decent players but this has taken some time, i inherited a poor squad and to change things round for the future i had to look to youth. Subsequently i have sacraficed some points in the front end of the season but as they say the league is a marthon not a sprint. You have to be reaslitic in that i have the worst top-11/top-17 in the WHOLE of sesl not just my league i have tried to be adventureous by playing longball and press however with the weaknessess i have it is suicide, just look earlier in the season when i played BUC, if i remember rightly i played longball for 90 mins and walked away with a 5-0 defeat. In hindsight i can see why losing 1-0 to CLY playing stall the whole game was a "schoolboy" error on my part however i was very busy this week(University induction week a.k.a FRESHERS week a.k.a lets all go get pissed and meet all the new talent in aberdeen(cant settle for dolly everyweek)) and lucky to find the time to send in some line-ups rather than going NMR. Despite all this slating i was happy with the point i gained over the week especially when we were playing our rivals ARB. To downright steal a point against them when my team was soo weak is especially pleasing.

I feared the NAI revivial may start this weekend as FAL is his next match,
then THIS trade went thru today......

DEE sends 700k, Steven Robb (5/22 FW), Mark Fotheringham (5/13 MF)
to NAI
for Willie Barron (2/23 MA)

Well for starters the SL 23 for SL 22 swap isn't likely to make a change..

Nairn now have more cash than anyone else and there's a nice auction just around the corner.

Nairn only have 17 CP and four age 2 players that will swallow that quite easily, so the 2/23 would either not have gotten coached or someone else would lose out. Either way there will be an age 3 player next season who is not all that powerful.

True, the 5/22 FW will be even less powerful and the 5/13 MF won't even make T17 if Nairn get a another player.

Long term, Nairn will be relegated and so have to look to the future. With five age 3 players and two age 2 next season there's not going to be enough CP to go around. The trade has reduced this and brought cash to the club.

I'm not saying I would have made the trade or that Richard has the same thoughts as me.

What I don't understand is why Nairn have TP as a team need and have sold 3 TP - apart from the cash that could be used on October 8th.

And those that comment about Nairn stalling all the time. Better that than lose 120k to a blowout.

Ah, it truly is a low point when you lose to Clyde. :-)

He Who Dares Wins, Steve.
Or draws rather than wins, in NAI case! SESL/tongueout.gif

Credit to NAI, Richie has upped his efforts and his positive play will soon pay off.
Who would bet against NAI having a decent SESL Cup run now? SESL/header.gif
