SESL CHAIRMEN are thinking about introducing team cash bonus's for the top teams in SESL.

Perhaps the 3 division winners to all claim a cash boost? Is this fair?

Cup winners also could see a small cash injection at end of season, or do Cup team get enough reward for extra gate receipts already?.

Any other award suggestions in addition to those in the rules, post them here.

Average gate money per game

Hearts - 122.2k
Huntly - 100.0k
821k more or HEA over a 37 match season

Saint Mirren - 86.2k
Motherwell - 66.9k
714k more for SM over a 37 match season

Greenock Morton - 80.1k
Dumbarton - 68.2k
440k more for GM over a 37 match season

Chances are the higher up the tables you finish the more money you will earn so I disagree with more extra money that makes the better teams even better. Otherwise what's the point of Bosmans being weaker the better you do?

The same goes for Cecil and SESL Cup winners. If you win you play more games and so earn more money and have more chances to train and coach players, which saves you even more money.

I like the Commish Idea but I would extend it further to award the top 6 a few kkk.
say 500k down to 50k. It gives a little something extra to play for.

Some clubs may spend those extra k (try a bit harder to get a top 6 spot)

HOWEVER having read Steve's comments re; gate money it has got me thinking wub.gif

Perhaps I may just park my large arse on the FENCE SESL/Moonie.gif

It's the end of my first season in SESL, and I have to admit, I was surprised to find that teams got no financial reward from the League for their final League position and/or cup progress.

In essence, I agree with Steve, and Robin's hot ayr doesn't help SESL/Moonie.gif , McD and Friends don't like rule changers SESL/abigcry.gif , so let's just tweak them a bit... SESL/cool.gif

Listening to comments made this season and previously, the Punters want 'a level playing field', yet there has to be Rewards for suckSESfL teams or else why are we here?

At the start of a new season, every team in my opinion, should have at least 1500k in the bank, the reason for this is obvious. If you don't have that in the bank at the start of season 19, it's your fault! not the Chairman, not OLMEC, not luck.

A BIG/small bag of cash to reward the winners at the end of a season is not the way forward, but a gradual accumulation for progressive results, and so... MVP's and Morale I feel, pretty much take care of this, added to Captains Bonus' there is enough to gain from winning in the league games. However, I would like to see some more reward for progression in the CECIL and SESL CUP's

Therefore, I would propose that rule [B 4.1] Ticket Revenue be adjusted to include a bonus % be added to the match revenue, with the % being greater as the Cup rounds progress, but with a maximum revenue (SOLD OUT) being implemented too (200k?) 'Real' clubs in football manage to sell more than 3x their 'season ticket holders' for cup finals, why not in SESL too!

Neutral CUP Match
Gate Receipts = 60k * (1 + (1.5 * home morale) + (1.5 * visitor morale)*(MATCH NUMBER/10)) ...ISH?

anyone...?

Maybe a bit complicated to change the raw game software code for cup matches unique to sesl.

I'd say some minor cash awards OK for league and Cup winners,
although I note what Stevie T has noted above.

Do you do your best thinking in middle of night Graeme?

How about a token gesture award?

Div 1 winners: 300k
Div 2 winners: 200k
Div 3 winners: 100k

Sesl Cup winners :200k
Cecil Cup winners: 100k

All effective from season 19 onwards. SESL/goodluckicon.gif

League and cup winners get their name in lights on the HALL OF FAME in rules, so this is enough recognition!

And afterall, the division winners are more than likely going to pick up an 'end of season award' anyway for Golden Boot (4CP) or Best Offensive Team (200k)

I think cash rewards, or TV money could be introduced to the game.
You have the trade off, the lower the position the better bosman you get but the less money you're given as a reward of your position.

I really do think that the bosmans should not be the same for each division, the lower divisions should get a better bosman, or maybe a younger bosman??

As for the cups, I really do agree with the previous poster that the gate receipts should be higher in the cup. It would be SESL/cool.gif if this could come about.

On an aside, I don't think the money SM was talking about is realistic, but then perhaps it is.

I like the idea of higher gate receipt in each round of the cups, dont know how much higher, but I like the idea at least.
Or we could have a cash award after the season for progressing in each cup.
for example
winner 100k
losing finalist 75k
semi final 50k
quarter finalist 25k
last 16 10k

This is not much, but if you look at that the winner has to win 5 head ups to win the competition, it is at least something extra (about 10-20k each game).

Not an easy solution anywhere, so my tuppence worth goes not to giving cash amounts at the end of a season - higher gate monies plus end of season awards will take care of that, but an increase in morale given to clubs in every position as they finished a season, graded right down to the bottom.

That way the following season would see an increase in gates right away for the successful, but only so far as they remain good. Giving teams more money when they have had bigger income via gates and awards will only drive the big teams upwards and separate the others from them.

SESL keeps a tight rein on income for that reason and I would not like to see it changed.
I also will not vote for awards for Cup successes, as the increased number of games (and therefore gate monies) earned is reward enough in my opinion.

I agree with an award fr Cup winners... why not?

I'd like to point out that its not that I dont like tinkering. I just want there to be a good reason for a change.

In this case I dont think there is any good reason to change. We're all just conditioned to expect in competition that you get "a prize" at the end for an acheivement. Whats wrong with simply getting the kudos and the plaudits of your fellow managers (and of course the increased revenue streams - as pointed out by Steve).

The top teams already get more money in general, to add anything more than a nominal prize would be counter-productive and reduce any prospect of teams moving up or down the leagues. And by nominal prize I mean something around the 100-200K mark.

Personally I'm quite happy with things as they are but a possible solution may be to grade the cup cash awards by division. Therefore a 1st division team winning could get a nominal amount of say 100k whilst a 2nd division team could get 250k and a 3rd division outfit 500k. It at least means that the top clubs are not creaming off all the cash and gives lower league clubs an incentive to do well in the cups.

Actually thats an interesting thought and would go some way to alleviate my concerns.

Notional prize of 125 & 75K for winning (multiplied by your current division) maybe?

I'm still not entirely comfortable with it, and I'm sure Steve will come up with something I havent thought of - since he tends to be the most analytical one around here in terms of understanding the financial impacts of changes on the game economy.

Yes, a small pay out would make sense to add value to the cups, SESL/purple_smile.png
and more of a payout the lower the division seems to be a fair and just reward idea also.
