Not sure, haven't read the rules in a while, was it not 10k per SL or so?
SeslDotNet- 10-29-2004
Aye, 10k per SL.
Dunfermline- 01-13-2005
Physio Boost will become more important now with sesl cup games to consider. I plan to use it for sure soon.
A glance at some rosters like INV and ABE show the difficulties facing them juggling Endurance Levels with 3 matches a session now.
yoav- 01-13-2005
Does one can use the Physio boost for any player or just for injured ones (negative EL)?
Gabbarelli- 01-13-2005
You can use it for any, even a guy on EL9 although pretty pointless!
Hearts- 03-03-2007
BUMP!
I think DUM may need a Magic Sponge for his injured FW ?
scootie- 03-04-2007
Unless I have misread this, 10K per SL would be 17 x 10K = 170K and the guy would be back to 10 EL. Is that correct?
SeslDotNet- 04-07-2007
STJ spent 370k today to EL boost their GK.

As pre Dave's request on the Blog.
I'm against this rule. If you're unlucky enough to get a top player injured then suck it up.
However it it had to stay then I suggest two modifications.
1. You get a maximum of 10 EL back at the same cost as it is now. If you have a badly torn ligament (-32 EL) then I'm sorry but no amount of cash is going to make you fit enough to play in the next game.
2. The EL has to be applied at least 48 hours before the next match. It's hard enough predicting tactics as it is but if you've done your line-ups on the Thursday night based on the opposition team not having a star player, then it's unfair to have to keep checking to see if he's made a miraculous recovery.

MOT MAN,
The rule should go in my opinion, I agree if a player gets injured it's just tough luck.
But again if it has to stay I agree with the two points Steve makes (essentially this means only injuries such as bruise, sprain, bad sprain or concussion would perhaps be 'treatable') but I would just add that the player has to be injured...i.e. no boosting a player on 0 EL back to 10 EL.
yoav- 05-12-2007
I am infavour of the Magic Sponge rule. If you will look back you shall see that it was hardly ever used due to the high cost. Can anyone recall when it was last used prior to the STJ vs GRE match? The very rarity of its use means it does not unbalance the game.
However, I do feel that Steve as a good point in the suggested clause 2, that is that the EL should be applied 48 hours prior to the next match.

I believe the idea of Physio boost was to help clubs running small squads and teams who had a player with a serious injury (eg -30EL).
IT SHOULD ONLY BE USED on players who have a NEGATIVE EL .
IT CAN ONLY be used ONCE per session . eg. manager has to notify commish within 48 hrs of Results that he wishes to use Physio on xyz.
(commish posts on Blog that Team A has used Physio on xyz)
Physio should only restore 4 (max6) EL on player , plus the normal 4 .

I think this rule should go. But if it will stay: 1. As Steve said, a player can get a maximum of 10 EL back at the same cost as it is now. 2. As Robin said, it should only be used on player with negative EL . 3. A manager should notify Commish at least 4 days before next match, just to give next opponent a chance to prepare on player that supposed to be injured. 4. It is absolutely necesary that healing with Magic Sponge is published somewhere (I sugest Blog), eg. Peterhead payed 320k for recovery 10 EL for Mary Brajda, for example. As things stands now, we don't know on which players magic sponge was used so far.
But, nevertheless, I vote for scraping this rule.
Les- 05-13-2007
I've got no problem with this rule staying.
I think the intent is fine - and was used to great effect by Yoav in the Cup Final. He paid a large fee for "specialist" treatment to allow his star GK to recover his EL.
Its a rule which is only used rarely - lets face it, it is expensive, and if a club wants to pay the price let them...
