Thought i would move this here because i just want to know why teams in play-offs dont get their gate receipts:
Jackie @ HIB - says its because SESL doesn't reward failure.
I have to argue with this, firstly: Teams finishing near the bottom of the table are "rewarded" with bosman players with higher sl. Secondly: The robin hood rule. When the team bottom of the 3rd division are rewarded with teams cash when they go over 4000k.
Surely teams who reach the playoffs have been successful, teams finishing 11/12 have avoided relegation thus a success. Teams finishing 5/6 have beaten several other teams to get a 2nd chance of promotion.
In saying that SESL doesnt reward failure, does that mean that teams who are beaten in the knockout rounds of cups should not receive gate receipts?!

In the Olmec coding a game is given one of 4 abbreviations: L, C1, C2 or P.
Teams in P games don't get any gate receipts. This is because MSWL has this rule as well (in MSWL teams play 5 games in a play-off group with top 3 of the 6 going to the 1st division).
I believe it has been like this since season 17. In Season 16 the promotion games were assigned to the Cecil Cup and appeared as such on the History page (removed by me when I updated the history) and so did get gate receipts. But in that season there was no Promotion Play-off abbreviation.
I'm not even sure if you can use CP or TP in those games either, but if I was a manager in the play-offs I'd still try just in case.
I'm also not sure if the games count to a manager's WDL record. It certainly doesn't in MSWL and I'm fairly confident it didn't in SFLSL.
