Match 18 sees the first "old firm" clash of the SESL season.

These 2 managers really don't like each other !!

MOT Man- 04-13-2006
CEL are the team with momentum and should be expecting to take the maximum 3 points on offer in this match-up.

Team morale sky high.

SeslDotNet- 04-13-2006
Hogwash!

CEL team morale: .714
RAN team morale: .838

In the last 10 days CEL have lost to lowly AYR and KIL.
While RAN are on the ascendancy with solid win after win.

My money is on a Rangers victory.

I demand an inquiry, i thought betting wasnt allowed in SESL?

SeslDotNet- 04-13-2006
I have proposed a bet to Gabberelli on the outcome of this match, but Mr Findlay's bottle tends to crash.

Lets see if he goes ahead with our wee fun bet!
(it is for a breakfast at work, and not for any SESL resources)

Is the commish showing an alegiance to one particular team?

Is this fair?

Do you think this is grounds for a rematch if for some unknown or unexplainable reason, I don't get the right result? (As if there was any doubt)

Where is the impartiality the governing body of this league should have?

Is he the only one who can bet on SESL results?

I reckon I would have better luck putting on a coupon on SESL results than at Ladbrokes for the real thing.

Gabbarelli- 04-14-2006
Good spot Bill, I would love to have taken the SESL Commish bet, but as he has makes it clear betting on SESL is not allowed - he seems to be confusing himself!

Best leave him to lock himself away in a dark room and sort himself out I reckon!

Celtic to win BTW.

Question is what does a Div 2 manger have to gain by instigating a carve up by the Old Firm mangers , Is he in an unlikely allaince with Hibs managers to aid his title push !! SESL/tongueout.gif

Just a bit of a wind-up really RAN.

and GRE boss certainly fell for it, as his disappointment at result certainly 'spoiled' some good hype over this match.

We should pick a match every few weeks and build it up like this. As long as the 2 managers concerned agree to have scoreline posted on web site, then this ADDS something to the game.

And it is that - A GAME.
Dread to think how GRE boss reacts if his team (Celtic, I presume) loses in REAL LIFE!

Hearts- 04-16-2006
Regarding a match 18 scoreline posted on SESL web site,
I have researched extensively, and below is a list of football team web sites who do NOT post the scorelines of current matches on their web sites.

Agree a focus on a match is good. It DOES add some interest to SESL.

After a disappointing private message from GRE boss today, I feel I need to question HIS negative contributions to SESL lately.

What does GRE boss ADD to sesl?

A glance at his last 20 or so forum messages, suggest upto 90% not relevant to SESL. That is great for some banter, but then GRE rarely continues discussions and as many have seen GRE tends to duck and dive from answering any direct questions.

I genuinley wondered if he was just a wind-up merchant who had learning difficulties to answer simple questions. Now he has sent me a private message suggesting this is not the case, I feel he is game for a public query to his motives and any hidden agenda.

What GRE is GREAT at is team previews and reviews.
What GRE is GREAT at is building teams in to winning teams. That is objective of SESL, rather than run down the Commish and criticise.

How often has GRE posted something positive about SESL?
< feel free to answer GRE, as these are not all retorical questions! >

Les- 04-16-2006
Surely if GRE sent you a PRIVATE PM on this one this is where you should have sorted it?

Bringing this into the public domain doesn't win my vote here I'm afraid... SESL/athumbsdown.gif

However, I agree that a spotlight on an intense high profile game for the front page is good for the game! I wouldn't have any objections at being involved for sure SESL/goodluckicon.gif

ROFLMAO - Arbroath in a high profile game. rolleyes.gif

Sorry, Les, only joking. Knowing your managerial skills (Sunderland in SaSo) it won't be that long before they are.

I think it adds something as well and certainly wouldn't object to more of the same - as long as both managers agreed or knew about it beforehand (it's easy to shrink the window to hide the right side of the page anyway).

GRE v DUU in the SESL cup if we're lucky.

As for Mark's objections - surely it's up to him if he doesn't want to know the result of a game before seeing it. I certainly like to read my games line by line and last league game of last season did the same with DFA's last games.
