As American's say, a "cakewalk" ! biggrin.gif

Mikleson and Tiger discribed as a "Ryder Cup Dreamteam" was a funny start, and it just got funnier as the games went on!

2 years on, and Europeans are on home soil this September.

i was gutted last time out, was going to put a cheeky fiver on europe to win by more than 3 points but bottled it, and they won by about 6 points. My prediction is an European win however it will be very close this year. Monty again to steal the show!

P.S A cheeky fiver on Tim Clarke(RSA) e/w at this weeks open at Hoylake would be a smart bet.

Europe should win this comfortably. The course doesn't favour Americas big hitters, the fairways are narrow, it will be windy also.

Why so few of them were over the other week when the European Open was played there is a mystery.
Also Europe have a lot of top players in a good rein of form, including Old Double H Cup himself, couple that with the Irish lads playing well, can't bet against Europe, only got to work out how much Europe will win by.

Europe have to be firm favourites for Ryder Cup, especially if Monty finds his putting power again.

However, as I type this note, Americans are burning up the Open course at Hoylake with Tiger Woods and Chris DiMarco leading the field at middle of day 2.

Nah, lets keep the golf discussion going. Its still another week till the start of the new football season.

Europe are definitely favourites for the Ryder Cup but its an unusual position for them to be in and it could work against them. Di Marco to win the Open tomorrow (though from a European perspective I'd much rather see Sergio win).

The Americans are over at the K club in Dublin next week apparently for some practice and 'team bonding'.
Our Dublin correspondant Brian O'Farrell can keep us posted on developments!

Am I alone is saying I am not that impressed with Europe's captain being wee Ian Woosnam?

Feel that you are being a tad harsh on Woosie seeing as the thing hasn't started yet. He may have a difficult decision to make with his wild cards though as several key players haven't confirmed their place yet. Apparently Woosie is big mates with Paul Broadhurst - a surprise inclusion perhaps??

difficult decision to make with his wild cards

Wild card shoud go to Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke.

Wouldn't disagree but it would be a shame if Thomas Bjorn and Olazabal miss out.

Falkirk- 09-04-2006
Thomas Bjorn "not a happy chappy" I hear today.

Suppose with Wesdtwood being a fair bit down the rankings it must be hard to Bjorn to accept he has been excluded from Europe's Ryder Cup team.

I read a report of last Ryder Cup and said score was 18.5 to 9.5

I am no golfer, but that sounds like an utter thrashing if there ever was one.

Tiger Woods ??? TIGGER Wooden more like! SESL/tongueout.gif

Seems Europe installed as favourites. SESL/wink.gif
I am nervous it could be thrown away but cannot wait for the action to start this Friday.
