Midfielders Ferguson (Rangers), Fletcher (Manchester United), Hartley (Hearts), McCann (Southampton), McCulloch (Wigan), O'Neil (Preston), Quashie (Southampton)

Strikers Crawford (Dundee United), McFadden (Everton), Miller (Wolves), Miller (Bristol City), O'Connor (Hibernian), Riordan (Hibernian), Thompson (Rangers)

Lee McCulloch deserves a chance - he has been really good this season for Wigan.

SeslDotNet- 05-12-2005
Agree on McCulloch. Him and McFadden should be the two wide players.

O'Connor & Riordan able super-subs.

Your players in bold are pretty much the starting 11. Not sure if you meant that!

The 3 keepers are all very average. Defence is a concern. Dailly is past it, and Weir worth a year more than he's done. Pressley and Webster ok, but no world beaters.

Who is O'Neil (Preston) ? Neil McCann well past his best. Midfield needs beefed up a bit. Quashie I like alot.

Kenny Miller can play, but not as a lone striker. 442 formation could suit Scotland, but as I say I am concerend with defence. Kennedy at Celtic has been out injured for a year and could be a solid defender if he lives up to expectations.

Scotland won 2-0 today. SESL/clap.gif
First time a Scotland manager has won his 1st home game in charge since Jock Stein in 70's .
Same result in Wednesday's game please. SESL/fingersXicon.gif

Scotland played the least games on the group so far, what are the odds for catching up with the leading teams?

Less than for Israel to qualify!!

But better than they were under Vogts SESL/sunshine.gif

I think Kenny Miller has had his chance as striker and should now be replaced.

There were a handful of options on the bench again last night, but the strikers never even got a chance to come on the pitch. That is frustrating and disappointing.

Hibernian- 06-13-2005
I agree - Kenny Miller has energy, pace, enthusism -

- but is not clinical enough for international level.

Hibernian- 06-13-2005
My xi would be:

Goalkeeper Gordon (Hearts),

Defenders McNamara (Celtic), Webster (Hearts), Weir (Everton), Dailly (West Ham)

Midfielders Ferguson (Rangers), Fletcher (Manchester United), Hartley (Hearts),

Strikers McFadden (Everton), O'Connor (Hibernian), Thompson (Rangers)

GM boss- 06-14-2005
Not a bad lineup. My preference would be the following (injuries and form permitting):

Goalkeeper: Gordon

Defenders: Dailly; Anderson; Weir; McNamara

Midfielders: Fletcher; Caldwell; Ferguson; Quasi

Forwards: O'Connor; Dickov

cheers,

andrew

I do not rate Dickov for Scotland at all.

The rest of the team lineup by GM is ok though.

I would settle for a 0-0 draw with Italy tomorrow.

GM boss- 09-02-2005
At present I would go with Kenny Miller before Dickov - looks in better form at present. He's less of a psycho than Dickov as well.

My team for tomorrow would be:

Gordon;Anderson,Weir,Webster;Dailly,Fletcher,Ferguson,Quasi,McNamara;
Miller, Beatie

I think O'Connor being out is a big blow for tomorrow.

Andrew
