Berwick- 09-04-2005
Match 48 RAN v BER in Cecil Cup knockout.
Attendance: 50,690--Referee: Hugh Dallas

BER are thru on away goals until the 89th minute....

Min 89: Barry Ferguson (RAN) puts in a good cross...
...Nacho Novo harrassed from behind, but the RAN player takes a chance...
...the shot goes in GOAL! RAN fans celebrate with the ref!
...score now: RAN 4 -- BER 2

Typical bias to the big clubs in SESL! SESL/athumbsdown.gif
Hang the refs! SESL/awhack.gif

OK, so I kinda made the bit up that said
"RAN fans celebrate with the ref!"
but you get the idea.

I am at a lose to explain how Rangers and Celtic (Old Firm) top the sesl table,
and HIB sit at the very bottom.

HIB have the highest Top11 Skill Level I think. Come on Peter.

Hearts- 09-10-2006
Match 17, Due Wed, Sep 13: 1100 GMT , see's Rangers meet Celtic in the CECIL Cup 1st leg knockout.

How many PLAYERS will get knocked out in this battle remains to be seen!

Hardly a goal fest, but Celtic were robbed today going out on away goals.

Min 88: Karl Svensson makes a hash in defense...
...under pressure form Dion Dublin (CEL)...
...and Kenny Miller collects the ball on the edge of the box...
...the Scotsman smashes the ball past Lionel Letizi...
...and into the billowing net. GOAL!...
...what a dramatic equalizer...
...score now: CEL 1 - RAN 1

(sometimes I think how real life SESL match commentary is to real life - like BRE player scoring in SESL on same day he scores for Everton IRL too on Saturday there.
Above, Karl Svensson makes a hash in defense I can believe IRL,
but Kenny Miller smashes the ball into the billowing net is just being silly on his real life goal drought this season!)

Rangers- 09-21-2006
Stewart

Also in same game , something i wouldnn't believe......

Lovely chip from Alan Hutton (RAN)...
...Thomas Buffel was brave...
...and knocks the ball past the onrushing David Marshall GOAL!...
...and Rangers have broken the deadlock...
...score now: CEL 0 - RAN 1

Celtic- 10-19-2006
Here's another case of that all too regular refereeing bias favouring the Old Firm.
SESL/abigcry.gif
Min 12: After a brief skirmish at midfield, Craig Hinchcliffe is awarded a yellow card!...
...the official is clearly playing to the crowd on this occasion!?

MIDFIELD!!! I know I played him there earlier in the season, but the guy was playing as a Goalkeeper!!!! So, did he really take leave of his senses and charge out of goal up the park and banjo one of the opposition to help out his midfeild mates??? I think not.

Min 25: Craig Hinchcliffe(CEL) is SENT OFF!!
Then he is sent off, for well........well, he was just sent off???

Min 26: Roy Aitken(CEL) is forced to reposition to GK.
And I don't really know what te ruling here is, But, why did one of my DF's go in goal when I had a GK on the bench? Does the program not take that into account when a GK is sent off?

Short answer: not at the moment. I've already mentioned it in the bugs and anhancements (either on SESL or MSWL)

Celtic- 10-22-2006
Check out this latest display of Old Firm bias:

Min 12: David Marshall (CEL) booked for what looked like an unintentional handball.

UNINTENTIONAL HANDBALL The guy is my GOALKEEPER!!!

SESL/awall.gif

Now with a very important game coming up against QP I have both my GK's suspended. So how's that for Old Firm bias???

Handled out the box obviously SESL/goodluckicon.gif

Wait till you get a penalty awarded against you for handball by your goalkeeper - yes it's happened to me SESL/awall.gif

Play your SD in goal - he'll play at SL 14 and be better than a lot of other teams' backup GK

Dundee United and Aberdeen are known as the "NEW" firm in real-life Scottish football,
and both these teams are top 3 currently in SESL,
so maybe the tide is turning from 'old firm' to new firm! tongue.gif
