Random injuries, as some players loose 1 EL due to injury and gain 4 EL at the end of a match.

Minimum injury is -4 EL as well as what the player has lost during the match so far. With the probable loss of an extra EL if the injury doesn't come on a multiple of 15 minutes, not allowing the player to pick up his +4 EL would mean a net loss of 9 EL to the team as a whole.

Related was somebody saying that players shouldn't be forced to go off when the injury doesn't take them below 0 EL. The problem with this is that they could go below 0 EL later in the game and pick up an even bigger injury.

Season 20 now nearing completion - just the play-offs to be resolved.
Thought I would resurrect this forum thread to grab a few opinions of what is hot and what is not, in SESL currently.

Constructive criticism encouraged. SESL/yay.gif

Random Injuries appeared last season and seemed to reduce this season, but then I only played 2nd half of this season!

Think schedule of matches seems fairly steady now and system works.

2 SESL seasons per calendar year seems to work well too. SESL/yay.gif

Most things seem to be running pretty smoothly now.

One not hot for me is the expansion team rule. I don't think a team should be allowed to stockpile CP, TP, cash for use the following season. A manager should try and turn things around - compete in auctions for instance. It's amazing what a couple of decent age 0 auction buys can do for a couple of seasons.

Expansion team should be a fixed amount of CP, TP and cash.

I argee with regards TP/CP/Cash for expansion teams.

I'm not sure a fixed amount is flexible enough though. I think we'd be better looking at making it the average figures in the league (minus of course the expansion teams totals). Actually thinking on it I'm not sure about average, perhaps the median values might be better?

That way we take account of any possible inflation/deflation of value in the leagues - witness the (IMHO absurd) inflation of CP value in recent seasons.

Agree. The point of an "expansion team" is to start from scratch. No hoarding of CP/TP should be allowed.

why not just get rid of the expansion team idea then?! AI is a prime example of the rule not being needed - Kevin spent a season just training up youngsters and now Stewart has taking over look at them fly.

I have no doubt STI will probably be the same. Expect big things from them next season.

Any chance of the fine for poor disciplinary records being brought into SESL?!

I read today that Nairn County were fined £350 by the Highland League due to their poor disciplinary record last season.
