Souness has been quoted as saying Keane isn't the right type of striker for the geordies

Yep, a Celtic fan!

He is coming up here next season anyway, signing a Bosman in January.

You can probably have Souness now if you want him that much SESL/wink.gif

...or is that not who you meant SESL/tongueout.gif

Nice one Les!

And fingers crosses Robbie Keane does sign for Celtic next year. SESL/fingersXicon.gif
He may fit in well with the other has-been-past-their-sell-by-date players like Alan Thompson & Neil Lennon,
and Keane's shot-to-goals ratio could be quite entertaining up here!

Don't know about Robbie Keane signing for Celtic, but they say Roy Keane wants to retire by playing out his career at Celtic.
Can't see manager Strachan entertaining that to be honest.

As for this topic - should it now be changed to -
Tottenham Hotspur, - a club going somewhere?

Or perhaps re-named to -
Arsenal - a club going nowhere!?

Never thought i'd say it, but QueensPark is my new best friend!

Robbie Keane stays at the Lane.

I'm sure there is a certain manager in another league that would disagree with me! (SaSo managers only will get that!)

I'M impressed with Spurs this season.
They are right up there with Charlton and Boltin so far this season! SESL/sunshine.gif

No seriously. They are sure to make a Champions League place so that is great.

But what has happened to poor Everton this term? SESL/athumbsdown.gif

No i think you'll find we heard it first when Keane himself said it about 5 years ago!

Settle yourself Gabberelli - since when did Celtic sign decent players on a Bosman?

Stick to lower league rejects for millions like Mo Camara, Paul Telfer, Adam Virgo and Du Wei! That is some back 4 you have there at Celtic Gab! wub.gif

No Robbie Keane for Celtic, but Kenny Miller for Celtic is rumour down here instead. SESL/tongueout.gif

Why is Gordon Strachan signing lower league English rejects? Mo Camara, Paul Telfer & Adam Virgo were mentioned in quoted forum post. Celtic are a bigger club than these dross signings suggest?

Du Wei I have never even heard of.

Agree there. To be honest I think Telfer and Camara were stop gaps until he had chance to look at some other players, and hopefully with the signing with Wilson and perhaps a new left back in the future they will become merely squad fillers.

Virgo seems like an error, however he is fairly young, so the jury it still out on him

To be fair to Strachan he has made some better quality signings like Nakamura, Zurawski, Boruc and perhaps Keane who are all proven internationals - so not all players are lower league level.

To just look at the signings mentioned by the Commish gives a narrow viewpoint of the signings made by Celtic - as a Rangers fan he is hardly to going to pinpoint the good players we have signed is he?

Would also like to point out that those players mentioned by Commish did not cost "millions". Granted Virgo's fee goes up to £1.5m depending on appearances etc. However of the others Camara was free, Du Wei's fee for his loan was nominal as was the fee for Telfer.

Was only talking about back 4.

To widen viewpoint to other signings not in back 4 could be seen as a desperate attempt to stop sniggering at your comedy club Celtic? (see "'Strachan Off To a Flyer" topic)

The other player mentioned was Robbie Keane signing for Celtic in January according to Gab. Seems Strachan decided on the lower league reject route once again though instead with Kenny Miller.
