To widen viewpoint to other signings not in back 4 could be seen as a desperate attempt to stop sniggering at your comedy club Celtic?   (see "'Strachan Off To a Flyer" topic)

The other player mentioned was Robbie Keane signing for Celtic in January according to Gab.   Seems Strachan decided on the lower league reject route once again though instead with Kenny Miller.

If we do sign Miller I think he will be a decent signing, Scotland internationals side top striker. You not just talking back 4 any more then?

To narrow looking at our signings down to players who are only defenders that are squad fillers and not current first team picks except for Telfer could be seen as a desperate attempt in itself, don't you agree?

If I wanted to examine Rangers signings for example should I just criticise Rangers signings for the striker position - Nieto, Jeffers, Maniero, and the la-*test*-('") incumbent Boyd from Kilmarnock?

Or should I expand to the defence - FanFan, Rodriguez, Murray??

Now, do you want to discuss your own teams signings with that critical eye of yours, or will that hurt too much! SESL/tongueout.gif

Comedy club celtic!!!! Come on Commish, thats comical in itself!!! That comedy club are 17 points in front of 'the mighty Rangers'!

A simple look at the league table shows that Rangers have conceded more goals than Celtic. We may not have a defence that we're happy with but it sure as hell beats the Rangers defence.

Now, do we really want to look at the stats for the forwards?????

If Celtic win 17 more titles, then you will be nearer our record! SESL/tongueout.gif

The league table indeed shows you ahead and Rangers conceeded more goals.
Have you any figures on throw-ins for us too!!? SESL/tongueout.gif

Comedy club is based on throwing title away last May, then appointing Gordon Strachan who in under 6 months has recorded 2 of the worst Celtic results in living memory: losing 5-0 to Bratislava and last week losing to lowly Clyde in the Scottish Cup.

Meanwhile Rangers march on in the Champions League last 16. SESL/header.gif
That is perhaps preferable to another domestic title that we have won plenty of? SESL/Moonie.gif

This topic has got little to do with its title "Tottenham Hotspur" now ..... SESL/slapfish.gif

Apparently it would hurt too much?

"To widen viewpoint and ignore current season domestic performances could be seen as a desperate attempt to stop sniggering at your comedy club Rangers?"

In England, generally it is Rangers who are thought of as the big club and the one with sustained success and bigger trophy haul. The usual argument to the contrary is that Celtic won the old European Cup though, but:-

i) that was almost 40 years ago.
ii) Nottm Forest won that old Cup too so are they still a big club?

This seasons' signings of lower league English players to Celtic only perpetuates this standpoint. No amount of tit-for-tat bickering on here can disguise the fact Celtic are signing a much poorer standard of player from England when their fans previously enjoyed English exports like Chris Sutton, Neil Lennon and Alan Thompson - all in their prime.
No wonder Celtic fans vent their frustration on this forum.

Returning to the topic title Tottenham Hotspur, I am a fan of Robbie Keane and have heard no rumour of Robbie Keane signing on a Bosman this month for Celtic.
What is Gaberelli's source of this story ?

Spurs unveiled a new club crest yesterday and it looks great, albeit a throw back to the past.
Liverpool are also returning the the 70's with the old huge club crest returning to their kit next season.

Similarly, Celtic and Rangers fans in general perhaps need to stop looking back but concentrate on the current. The general football fan would conclude Rangers making the last 16 of Champions League eclipes anything Celtic can currently achieve this season.

Sorry Montrose, here is the link:-

I thought as a Robbie Keane fan you may have noticed this on the BBC website under the Spurs stories. Guess your football knowledge is not as up to date as you think.

Reaching the last 16 in the CL is a good achievement for Rangers - no matter how lucky they were to do it.

And it has been a good thing for Celtic too, it has saved their managers job, this is the same manager who took Rangers through their worst ever run of games without a win earlier in the season.

I think you will find majority of tit for tat threads on Celtic and Rangers on this forum begin with somebody having a go at Celtic first. So perhaps you should review your point about it being the Celtic fans venting their frustrations.

As for this topic - should it now be changed to -
Tottenham Hotspur, - a club going somewhere?

3 years on - Spurs going somewhere indeed! SESL/cheerleader.gif
