I would like to bring to the attention of the Appeals Panel this trade from week 7 (15 Oct 05):-

QP -> CEL GK 0/7 Cecil Farquarr
CEL -> QP 375k

Measures should be put in place to prevent QP turning into a "feeder" club for CEL.

Inverness- 10-16-2005
Didn't spot that one - yes it should cost more than 75k to season a player. Strange how QP appear to have been ripped off here (see my other post)

Edit - there is no other post. I thought I saw a lop-sided trade but on reflection it isn't as bad as it first looked.

Its 175k profit actually to season the apprentice,
so not so bad afterall I suppose.

Is there anything wrong with a low division club becoming a 'feeder' for one of the top clubs?

The only problem might be the fact that CEL paid for that apprentice even less than what it cost for a div1 club to purchase an apprentice from the commish. (375k vs the official 400k)

Can't see what the problem is here. QP acted in good faith and were trying to flog him at a higher price without any takers. Even at the price he sold the GK for there weren't many in the queue to buy were there?

So Celtic have grabbed themselves a bargain - good luck to them!
QP have made small profit - good luck to them!
Everyone else missed out or didn't want / need the player so what!

Celtic still have the job of TP'ing the young GK up in tough competitive league matches against some frightening forwards though! SESL/wink.gif

Les has said it all > move to top of the class.

I queried this trade and discussed with Mark .

Quote "QP has been trying in vain to trade GK since at least Sep 21
on forum. He has had no takers , so in the end taken the best offer
available."

No problem with the trade as the player had been on the open market
for some time.

Robin

Yeah, I kept thinking QP were a 2nd division side.

Surprised Celtic have not jumped in on this, but simply he was the only one making offers. ARB were only other team who showed an interest, but he opted to buy his own 0/5 GK instead.

The trade was referred to Robin and Commish, and was OK'ed.
Supply and demand suggested 375k was the most any of the 48 teams were currently willing to pay. Everyone happen.

Would have replyed sooner if not for annoying work commitments, but doubt I could have said it any better than the posts above.

Nobody conned, both managers happy apart from those who have now missed out.

Not that there was a case to answer, but the fact that this trade was brought into question has now been dissmissed with the contempt it deserves.
