I was thinking about the transfer deadline and it opening on august 1, but the first game of the season beginning July 28.

Is there anything preventing us from starting to trade when we have finished sending in our orders for the season on July 20 ?

I have not put in any bids for any player, partly due to the fact that we havent been able to confirm the trade on the transactions page, and partly since my computer crashed a few weeks ago, and I just bought a new one few days ago.

Good point, well made. SESL/goodluckicon.gif

It would be sensible for the 'trade window' to open up sooner rather than later, and so midnight on Saturday the 21st of July would be a great start to the season.

However, I can appreciate the commish has some manual labour to process before the full functionality of the website can be delivered. Some of this has clearly already been done, with plenty teams already allocated their CP/TP and bank accounts adjusted and simply the addition of their Bosman still to be done.

So how about a countdown to the trade window opening, that starts 36 or 48 hours after Mark has completed the updates of each teams Season19 Info?

As long as we all have a few days BEFORE a ball is kicked to get some trades going, would be nice.

The anomaly in all of this, is the trade window opening in time for the 2nd leg of the CECIL Cup.

While it makes sense what you say, does it really matter when transfer window opens? Its the same for all 48 teams.
Will you complain when it closes, as you wanted to do yet more trades?

In real life, its only open 1 month every 6 months, so dont force Commish down this route!

Clearly some trade for the sake of it. Almost an addiction you could argue.

Personally, I often get the same managers pestering me for trades each season, and some are obsessed with trading anything.
4/21 MA has had over a dozen bids, with 7TP + 1CP being the top offer on the table.....

How Fickle We Are! SESL/abigcry.gif

Jackie seems to have forgotten Her Roots already, it's not the same for all 48 teams, and it's not a complaint.
32 teams will be asked to play before the trade window opens.

I am always complaining I guess SESL/abigcry.gif SESL/abigcry.gif

SESL/abigcry.gif Clearly Jackie does not understand that a healty trading market is essential for a healthy vibrant league ,hey any moron could just submit line-ups week in week out without trading or posting to Blog, journal or forum ( wacko.gif rolleyes.gif) Oh sorry some do! Enough said!

The Trade Window is currently closed but will open again on Sunday, July 22nd at 01:00 GMT...

GUY POWER!
Phew! What a campaign, relentlessly driven by our Campaign Manager Dave 'The Elder' Dowson, well done Dave! SESL/cool.gif

But who could forget, seems so long ago now, the man who lit the touch paper that nearly woke every SESL Manager into action... Óli 'fire starter' Sigurjónsson.
It was Óli who, tin opener in hand, upset the Mighty OLMEC with his constant complaining... 'it's not fair this', 'it's not fair that', 'what's with this trade window thing?' You're gonna have to sacrifice A LOT of chickens to placate the Mighty OLMEC this season Óli! SESL/cool.gif SESL/cool.gif

Yeah I know, I guess I will not buy or sell anything in the near future, I am destined for relegation this year, no matter what lineup I´ll send in... SESL/awall.gif

So all other managers can safely send their C team on the pitch against me SESL/wink.gif

For "C team" I know you mean 3rd choice team, but mentioning "C" got me thinking about COUNTER ATTACK.

Do many teams use COUNTER ATTACK, and had any success with it?

From Olmec Survery results yesterday, I noted someone suggested doing away with Normal as a team tactic and forcing managers to choose an actual team tactic to suit their team - that seems a good idea to me.

Normal IS a tactic, but the English language has some strange hang-up over the word 'normal' as no one wants to be Normal, we all want to be different.

However, I think the comment from the survey must have been in jest as anyone publicly posting comments about ditching Normal as a tactic has not been paying attention.

I could go on, but I'm really truly convinced this is a stitch up!
