Found this old topic, and after what Steve Turner said at live chat, I think there could be some u-turns by managers (me included) who disregarded WG previously.

With Long Ball effectiveness reduced for this coming season, but Early Cross remaining, the canny manager may consider to play with E now.

Banned substances are not allowed in SESL!

DUU are still desperately seeking WG

Think I need a UN Peace Negotiator to try seal a trade with some of these managers, but I know I can be just as difficult to deal with!

I have a WG for sale SESL/wink.gif

Not as good as the one you have but will add 20.3 to OFF if in a 4 man attack. I'll take your 4/14 MF and as mine is a little older I'll even chuck a CP your way.

I am not so sure that the full effectiveness is being added.

I am getting better OFF with N than I would with E or L, 2 MF, 2 WG, 2FW being fielded.

As for DUN looking for a WG, i so happen to have a 3rd one who is likely be surplus to my needs this season.

1/16 WG

The increased demand for WG's have yet to fully materialise this season in SESL.

HOWEVER......

the 5/26 WG is this coming auction may confirm the case, depending how much over valuation the player auctions for.

Depends on your point of view, Stewart. I've signed 2 wingers this season, and if I had a bit more than 4k I would certainly be bidding around 700k for the 5/26.

GOTCHA!

WG 5/26 Wing Wizard joins "the Arabs" at long last.

Never been a Fan of Wingers personally . You wont find any on my Motherwell squad . The Old saying "On a Wing & A Prayer" says it all . I'd much rather have an extra Midfielder or Strong Centre Forward . I just think that Early Cross detracts from the effectiveness of a teams offense. Just a personal opinion. Oh & I have played in PSFA for 5 seasons & never been BEATEN BY ANY TEAM PLAYING 2 WINGERS OR EARLY CROSS! SESL/tongueout.gif

Dunfermline- 04-24-2006
Saintman - PSFA and SESL use entirely different software.

SESL was changed at start of this season so Long Ball less effective, so emphasis is swinging to Early Cross as a better alternative.

Send any spare WG's my way until you get to grips with this software please! SESL/clap.gif

Wingers work well. You've lower DEF than normal, but considerable extra OFF to make up for it. As long as you don't run into a Ball control side you're in business.

And if you don't concede a penalty early on.

WG debate?

I am a fan of their versatility.

Most will play a 4-2-2-2 formation if using wingers, and so will typically generate 40% more OFF than a Striker;
so two wingers almost make up another player!
They are less likely to be caught offside, and are only marginally less effective shooters then Forwards.
When playing EarlyCross they can generate 1.90 OFF,
each wingers is almost as good as two Forwards!

If what Vincent wrote a while back ('quoted') is true, then I have underestimated Wingers.

Seems team could be on a 'wing and a prayer' WITHOUT any WG in their rosters!

PS, what happened to this guy Vincent? He really seems to know the game.
