Im browsing some of the old forum topics and occasionally seeing manager reference to SET in the same context as OTF.

what is/was SET?

Im guessing at SET Piece ability of your team ..... what happens to SET and how did it work?

Yes, David, SET was set-piece ability. It had a value from 1 to 20 and cost 1 CP to increase by 1. At the end of the season you lost 30% as with OTF.

Used in 2 places.

Corners - if a shot was saved there was a 50% chance of a corner. Your SET was compared to your opponents and there was a chance of a goal.

Free Kicks - I can't remember exactly how free kicks were worked out, I think it was a chance based on your aggression and the referee (passive teams could even give free kicks with a strict homer ref). There's be a random distance from goal and then a random chance if a goal based on your SET and that distance.

I know the numbers are numbers, but I invested somewhat in SET and couldn't seem to get it to do a #$@# thing for me.

thanks guys

It sounds like a good addition. Why was it taken away?

It wasn't added/coded to the newer online version of Olmec. So in SESL the last season it was used was season 15.
