Feels like Christmas again! tongue.gif

Seriously though it looks like the database has went back a couple of months to pre-season.

David HAM King- 02-24-2008
Well, it's down completely just now. I guess Al is having to do some work with his server just now. There's no matches until Wed and there's no auction so it's not a problem.
Dave (MOT) is maybe losing out on 15 trades, but I'm sure he'll make up for it. rolleyes.gif

... to see if somehow HEARTS and ABERDEEN got mixed up at pre season stage!

I mean how can Hearts be struggling while Aberdeen flying high?

re: Christmas reset

"Yeah, in a nutshell...

I have a "more powerful" mac that I use now as the web server and we used to use the Mac Mini for the site.

Well, when we turn on the Mac Mini which is using the new DSL, because of all that stuff I had in place to "ensure" IP address changes get updated so people get to olmec.org (even when the dynamic IP address changes), it works...TOO well...so is hitting the old computer which was last used around X-mas."

An excellent example of redundant, multiple redundancy then?

Olmec web site is down again just now.

Do games run OK in the background as planned?

Apache Tomcat error again this morning.

Still plenty time for lineups to go in though before Saturdays' match deadline.

SeslDotNet- 04-11-2008
Apache Tomcat (which JSPs run on) seems to flake out occasionally and just "stop".

Allan Sellers gets a maintenance message.

He then needs to manually restart Tomcat.

Olmec web sites should be back up and running again by tonight.

cheers

But I want to waste time on there today instead of working.

Hmm I suppose I could do some work

BUCKIE DAN- 04-11-2008
Apache Tomcat - did he once release the single entitled "Boom Shack-A-Lak" biggrin.gif

Olmec web site is down again just now.

Hope nothing to do with Tornados in USA - fingers crossed all (and Al) is OK.

SeslDotNet- 05-12-2008
Olmec web site down today and could be a power outage.

I don't think Olmec owner Al Sellers is near the tornado's in USA,
but best wishes to all effected.

Olmec web site seems down today.

May be this again:
"Apache Tomcat (which JSPs run on) seems to flake out occasionally and just stop".

Fridays is Al's usual working from home day. As I understand it he turns the web server off when he's working from home.

Its his bandwidth and work pays the bills. Fridays can sometimes get busy with SESL people loggin in at the last minute to do lineups.

Lineups in early and modify later if required is the general advice.
