I used to play in another Play By Email Game and they had a "Neville of the week" for managers whose team had a nightmare for example my nightmare last round of the season when i missed the line-up deadline and thus lost out on promotion. It would just be used as a bit of banter between the managers and it could be posted each week on the homepage of the web-site, along with a photo of the manager if they have 1. Of course we couldnt use "neville of the week" because that would be a straight copy so i was thinking about "Wilkie of the Week" because as most managers who follow scottish football Lee Wilkie makes alot of gaffes.

SO what do you guys think?

Sounds good to me. A bit like Leeds United's worst performer of the week, who HAS to drive around in the club Reliant Robin! blink.gif

Would give people a reason not to perform badly! wacko.gif

Im up for it! Although the competition i will have next season may see me as a Reliant Robin driver for many weeks! rolleyes.gif

A good idea (look I'm agreeing with something Nairn said - no sarcasm or anything!)

Its an easy topic for people to include in their press releases and would surely cause debate and rivalries to build upon during the season!!! biggrin.gif

Are we losers at SESL?

No, I think we don't, so why should we need something like a Wilkie award. If we gonna do something like that we all going to look like Frank de Boer. And that's not what we want. I think we should focus on the good sides of SESL and not to the worst side. tongue.gif

If you didn't make the deadline, you did it yourself, isn't it?

I think it would be good for creating banter

And I completely agree with the name change...

Or how about the Capucho of the Week?

Bijls- 01-19-2004
If there should be one, it has to be Frank de Boer, because he's the biggest loser in international soccer

To the tune of Yellow Sumbarine:-

Nuno Capucho won a medal in Seville. A medal in Seville. A medal in Seville.
Nuno Capucho won a medal in Seville. A medal in Seville. A medal in Seville.

PS, unlike any celtic player did in uefa cup final. cheer up ELG and CEL!

Aye, he used to be not a bad player before he retired and joined Rangers............ ohmy.gif

I much prefer the Celtic fans chants during the recent 3-0 drubbing of the Forces of Darkness,

'Bring on Capucho!' or 'Nuno, Nuno, Nuno' - not often he's heard that been chanted from the Ibrox stands, must be the first time he's felt wanted in months.

Think the best idea is for managers to nominate there own "Wilkie of the week" or "Douglas of the week" or whatever you want to call it in there press, then maybe mark or the press editor could tally up votes and mention it somewhere for the managers view of that weeks "wilkie"

Bijls- 01-20-2004
If their have to be one, just call it Wilkie of the Week....Someone created it, isn't it? tongue.gif

Managers can nominate their own "Wilkie of the Week" in their press releases seems a good idea.
Go for it. cool.gif
