Just wondered if there is a need to cut back on the amount of cash or resources or SLs floating around in SESL?

I remember in SFLSL you could not go over a total of 400SLs in a team, punishable by your oldest player being removed to get you under the "cap" - this stopped Uberteams appearing and resulted in some larger teams selling off players to become as powerful as possible but leaner and fitter for it.

Mark was wondering if Bosmans are worth while in that teams want/need the 1/16 down to 1/10 eg but then the 1/6s up to 1/9s tend to become just another player needing to be offloaded asap.

Should we offer Bosmans as normal BUT put in a cash alternative to getting one, so the 1/6s make a few bob for you and you don't need to get rid of them. Perhaps offer a TP/CP package instead - would not be much for a 1/6 but better than keeping a player you don't want in your squad.

Does anybody feel the TPs allowance should be cut/lessened/increased? By cutting it I would assume we would move into an MSWL situation whereby older players tend to stay more and are revered in most teams - increase it means younger lads would be brought in and trained to the detriment of the older boys.

I just thought some of these elements we take for granted might be worth discussing - amazing how some managers maybe have an opinion on a subject and it takes an open topic for it to be discussed. Well, here it is.

My opinion for what it is worth is that I would like a "deal" for all Bosmans to give me a decision whether to keep or give up my new lad.

I would like TPs to be increased OR cash to be given to managers who retire an older lad, and would like apprentices to be the same price in all 3 divisions, say 250k per lad.

What are your thoughts?

No, apprentices NOT be the same price in all 3 divisions. So few were being bought before hand, so is that not reason why the price difference. Let Div 3 have some sort of break, otherwise teams at foot of table may give up.

No matter how poor a roster you have, in Div 3 you can always have cash to buy a 200k apprentice for less than 3 matches gate receipts.

Oddly, I would not offer more TP, but less at start! Is it 40 we get free?
Certainly idea to offer minimal TP instead of Bosmans, but certainly no point giving cash for retiring a player - he is being retired as he is useless, so why would he hold an artificial value?

A tp or cp should be offered up as payment for retirement of older player but only over a certain age and under a certain sl, as teams should be encouraged to train younger players.

Apprentice price should be staggered for whatever league you play in so keep as is at the moment.

Bosmans should be bosmans, you get them free at start of season so a cash or cp/tp alternative shouldn't be offered, anyway, you can sell them and you can get your alternative so you win either way.

Good point on Bosmans being Bosmans (i.e. PLAYERS). Some are sold off anyway for cash or resources.

TPs allowance should be cut/lessened perhaps, but then less age 0 would need to be offered at auction to balance things a bit.

Old players just clog up the rosters, but certainly no need to offer CP/TP to retire them. That will add MORE resources to the game.

Bosmans I am 50/50 on, but without them some teams may have NO ONE age 1 to use their free 40TP on.

I think TP ought to be more valuable, so maybe limit CP?

Also think OTF is overlooked by majority of managers, so limiting CP would effect CP more. Oh dear.

In conclusion, I aint got a clue!

If you want to make TP more valuable...limit TP.
