Manager of Season in Scotland
There appears some debate over real-life Manager of Season in Scotland. Despite Strachans questionable signing policy (Mo Camara, Dion Dublin, Crock Keane, Adam Virgo £1.5m!), surely the manager who wins the league is the best manager, so should win the award? OK, Strachan flopped spectaculary in every Cup competition that mattered (Champ League, Scottish Cup) but talk of Jim Jeffries at Kilmarnock winning manager of season is bizarre, IMHO. Hearts had had a great season, will win the Cup in Scotland next month, but they have had 3 managers this season so cannot be considered! |

I just heard on radio Strachan won the writers' award as manager of the year. No surprise there. |

I think Strachan won Manager of Year again 2008/09, which suggests the awards are handed out too early and should wait til end of the season.
Won co-op comedy cup. But last place in Champ League group. Knocked out scottish cup by lowly Saint Mirren, and team failed to score a goal in 3 out of last 4 league matches of season and surrendered league championship. Strachan off to manage Aberdeen!? |
